Description

The Athletic Training Coordinator is a key member of the sports medicine operations team and will oversee the athletic training scheduling, and execution of event coverage for professional, collegiate, high school, club, and outreach partners.

The Athletic Training Coordinator will provide athletic training services to various organizations that Twin Cities Orthopedics works with, including professional, high schools, colleges, and youth sports organizations and function as a member of the Twin Cities Orthopedics outreach program.

This is a full-time position working non-traditional hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Twin Cities Orthopedics is an operating division of Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health), a group of local medical practices, owned and led by its physicians, on a mission to give patients more control over their healthcare.

Essential Job Functions:



  • Create and manage the Outreach event schedule and ensure that TCO contracted events are staffed with TCO athletic trainers (ATs).
  • Ensure that all TCO outreach athletic trainers maintain their NATABOC certification, MN board of medical practice licensure, MN board of medical practice athletic trainer protocol, WI licensure, WI board of medical practice athletic trainer protocol, and emergency cardiac care credentials.
  • In collaboration with the Hiring Manager provide support in recruiting, hiring, coaching, training, and developing employees.
  • Communicate event details frequent, and timely with staff and partners. Ensure that TCO contracted partners maintain proper Emergency Action Plans (EAPs) for events.
  • Maintain apparel and supply inventories at the Revo Health office in Eden Prairie and communicate order needs with the Sports Medicine Manager.
  • Provide athletic training services on an as needed basis, including evenings and weekends.
  • Delivering, setting up, and picking up event supplies.
  • Assist with sports physicals planning and coverage.
  • Teach first aid, CPR, AED, and advanced cardiovascular care classes as needed.
  • Uphold ethical healthcare and business standards, relying on support of HR/legal/Sr. Leadership review/support as necessary
  • Appropriately communicate and escalate employee relations issues with Manager/Director (including, but not limited to performance concerns, conduct, attendance and policy violations)
  • Collaborate with physicians, managers and staff across the organization
  • Maintain safe environment for staff and patients
  • Participate in community functions relating to TCO outreach events throughout the year.
  • Any and all other duties as assigned


Education and Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree
  • NATABOC certification
  • Licensed (or eligible for registration) in the state of Minnesota
  • Current Emergency Cardiac Care certification
  • Cardiac Care Instructor certification preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Certified Athletic Trainer

Working Conditions:



  • Frequently lift up to 50 pounds independently and occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, and move continuously throughout the shift.
  • Must be able to frequently perform physical activities such as pushing, pulling, and reaching.
  • Visual acuity to read electronic and paper documents.
  • Auditory ability to participate in phone or video calls clearly.
  • Manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment (e.g., computer, phone, printer).
