We're seeking an experienced Traffic Modeling System Engineer to support the development of next-generation missile tracking capabilities for advanced satellite ground systems. In this role, you'll help design and analyze traffic data models that support satellite-to-ground communications, missile tracking operations, and mission-critical space infrastructure.

What You'll Do:
- Develop and analyze traffic data models supporting satellite constellation communications and ground network operations.
- Decompose system requirements into scalable traffic models and operational architectures.
- Support satellite scheduling activities, service planning, and missile tracking operations.
- Analyze missile tracking and communications data to validate system performance and traffic models.
- Collaborate with systems engineering, network engineering, software, and operations teams to support system integration and deployment.
- Participate in testing, verification, maintenance, and operational support activities.
- Support the evolution and expansion of enterprise ground systems, operations centers, and infrastructure capabilities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives through advanced modeling, analytics, and emerging technologies.
What You'll Bring:
- 8+ years of experience in Systems Engineering, Network Engineering, Communications Engineering, Space Systems, or related technical fields with a Bachelor's degree; or 6+ years of experience with a Master's degree.
- 5+ years of experience supporting system requirements analysis, system architecture, integration, verification, or operational engineering activities.
- 3+ years of experience developing communication traffic models, network simulations, data flow models, or communications architectures.
- 3+ years of experience supporting satellite communications, RF communications, ground systems, or space-based systems.
- 2+ years of experience performing technical analysis, modeling, simulation, or validation of complex system performance.
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related STEM discipline.
What Sets You Apart:
- Experience modeling satellite constellation communications and ground network architectures.
- Experience with satellite-to-ground RF communication protocols and communication system design.
- Knowledge of packet prioritization, routing methodologies, and network traffic analysis.
- Experience with missile tracking systems, missile defense architectures, or sensor fusion technologies.
- Experience developing scheduling algorithms and operational logic for satellite services.
- Knowledge of cloud technologies and cloud-based system architectures.
- Experience supporting image collection, image processing, image storage, or imagery analytics systems.
- Strong systems engineering background involving requirements decomposition, validation, and verification.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
- Ability to identify opportunities for innovation, automation, and AI-enabled improvements.
- Agile development experience preferred.
Additional Information:
- Upon offer of employment, the individual will be subject to a background check and drug screen.
- Overtime: May be required to support program milestones and operational requirements.
- Lifting Requirements: Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position.
- Work Environment: Hybrid or onsite engineering environment supporting space and defense programs.
- Onsite Requirement: Minimum of 3 days onsite per week, with fully onsite options available.
