Description The Data Collection Tech Lead owns the operational health of their portfolio. That means operationalizing study plans alongside the EM and Delivery Leads - building throughput models, refining protocols and study taxonomy, creating schedules, and tracking and reporting against success metrics. It also means owning the people side of delivery: onboarding new study team members, offboarding rolling staff, and managing performance across field teams to ensure quality and consistency. The tech lead is the single point of contact for client communications on their respective studies and is expected to bring structure, calm, and forward motion to a fast-moving environment. This is a roll-up-your-sleeves role. Studies evolve weekly. Scope shifts. Ad hoc requests are constant - procuring study supplies, scouting and booking field locations, arranging travel for study teams, and unblocking issues in real time. The right person is comfortable operating with ambiguity, prioritizing on the fly, and going as deep into the details as needed to keep studies on track. While the role blends project management and light data/business analysis, the heart of it is people and execution. The data collection tech lead is the operator who makes sure the right teams are in the right places doing the right work, with the right plan behind them. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience Highly organized with demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams and competing deadlines Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to translate operational detail into clear executive updates Proficiency in productivity and collaboration tooling (Google Workspace, Slack, Asana/Jira/Smartsheet or equivalent) Comfort with ambiguity and rapidly changing requirements; bias toward action Sound judgment around confidential information and pre-release client work Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Sunnyvale, CA.
