Induction Hardener 3rd Shift

POSITION SUMMARY: Set up and operate induction hardener to harden raceways and gears on various sizes of bearing rings.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Through continuous monitoring and measurement, assure that all products meet or exceed the customer expectations and assure compliance with all procedural requirements. Populate any Quality related documentation necessary to meet Customer requirements. Assure that all Manufacturing and Quality related tools/materials are in calibration and of the latest revision
• Refer to part drawing and process sheet specifying the tooling and inductor.
• Load, unload, and locate the ring on the hardener with a crane, using clamps, blocks, shims, and other holding devices to align and secure the work piece.
• Position and locate the specified inductor to the work piece. Set prescribed tooling and set prescribed speeds and feeds.
• Obtain inspection and approval of set-up and/or first piece. Follow the operation sequence and check to maintain the specified dimensional tolerances, finishes and quality.
• Detect and report defective material, set up or operating difficulties.
• Check and record all necessary values in regards to Rockwell C 'HRC'. completed by properly using the 'Equitip and or King testing' devices.
• Check and record all necessary values in regards to Hardness depth using the ultrasonic depth tester 'IZFP'. Start tester and use it on the calibration block. Use Exosen 'UT' liquid in the probe and on the part to create the seal necessary to check the hardness.
• Mag Particle or Dye penetrant check, any features which are hardened.
• Maintain quench condition/concentration and Report all necessary quality checks - empty/clean/refill as required.
• Maintain equipment and work area in clean and orderly condition as directed. Continuous monitoring that all departmental inspection equipment is in calibration.
• Perform equipment checks and other duties as required by Supervisor.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or GED. Previous machining experience and practices a must. Blue print and GD&T knowledge is necessary.

EXPORT CONTROL: This position requires access to export-controlled technical data or technology. Employment is contingent upon thyssenkrupp's ability to obtain any required export authorizaton from the appropriate government agency or agencies.
