As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the design, implementation, and delivery of data-enabled solutions that advance the mission of Thomson Reuters Special Services (TRSS). This role requires strong technical expertise in working with structured and unstructured data, including data integration, extraction, transformation, analysis, and delivery. You will collaborate closely with teams across the technology organization, including product development, software engineering, data science, and business development, to develop innovative solutions that address complex customer challenges. In addition to supporting internal initiatives, you will work directly with customer technology teams to implement, customize, and maintain TRSS solutions and proof-of-concept projects. The role also includes designing and supporting scalable data pipelines and workflows, improving operational efficiencies through automation, providing solution architecture support for business opportunities, and advising leadership on technical capabilities and customer infrastructure requirements. Success in this position requires the ability to understand unique client missions and technical environments and translate those needs into customized solutions that effectively integrate TRSS content into customer applications. About You: You are an experienced data professional with several years of hands-on data engineering experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. You have successfully led the implementation and customization of technical solutions, ideally within government or mission-focused environments, and possess strong programming skills with languages such as Python and SQL. Your background includes experience working with RESTful web services, modern data communication technologies, relational and document-oriented databases, and a variety of data formats including XML, JSON, flat files, and graph-based data structures. You are comfortable working in both graphical and command-line environments across Linux and Windows operating systems and have familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure, particularly AWS. As a self-motivated and results-oriented professional, you bring a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and the ability to perform effectively in dynamic, fast-paced environments. Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The base compensation range varies across locations. Eligible office location(s) for this role include one or more of the following: New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and/or Irvine, CA; McLean, VA; Washington, DC. The base compensation range for the role in any of those locations is $94,000 USD - $175,000 USD. Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs. This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance.
