Distribution Assistant - Tulsa

The Tulsa World, a Lee Enterprises company, is seeking a full-time Distribution Assistant to assist in the distribution of newspapers to customers and independent contract carriers. This position is responsible for the assurance of quality service by delivery of "down" routes, address checks, and general assistance in helping to operate the distribution center. Maintaining an orderly flow on the dock and timely delivery of newspapers to the distribution center are an essential part of this role. Overnight and weekend hours are required.

Position Responsibilities

• Stage product for pick up.
• Delivery any open routes
• Communicate with contracted carriers on service
• Train new carriers
• Maintain clean and organized DC/dock area

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Ability to communicate, written/ orally
• Ability to do basic math
• Forklift/pallet jack- will train
• 20 lb. lifting/carrying requirement
• Reliable transportation
• Clear driving record/Valid DL/Proof of auto insurance

Education & Experience

• High school diploma
• Warehouse/ Distribution Center experience helpful, but not necessary
