Tesla's Infotainment EE team designs the multi-media compute platforms behind the cabin experience in every Tesla vehicle - driving high-resolution displays, immersive audio, camera and sensor fusion, inter/intra-networking, and on-vehicle AI inference. We are seeking a detail-oriented and enthusiastic electronic design engineer with a strong background in computer system design, validation, and support. In this role, you will own next-generation infotainment motherboards end-to-end, balancing performance, power, cost, EMC, and automotive reliability to deliver a best-in-class experience worldwide.

What You'll Do
  • Translate product and performance requirements into compute, memory bandwidth, display, audio, networking, peak power, and storage targets
  • Lead parts selection for critical components - SoC, memory, storage, power-management, display, microprocessor, Ethernet switch, audio controller, etc.
  • Implement open-ended electrical discussions into concrete circuit design and schematics
  • Lead PCBA bring-up, electrical characterization, validation across PVT corners, and failure analysis
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with PCB layout, firmware, mechanical, signal and power integrity, thermal, reliability, EMC, service, and program management
  • Document design requirements, calculations, and budgets to a level that supports audit and reuse
  • Design for manufacturability, testability, EMC compliance, and automotive reliability
  • Delivery infotainment hardware systems that may include multi-media compute platforms, USB charger, and infotainment ECUs from concept to production

What You'll Bring
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • A deep understanding of electrical/electronic engineering principles
  • 5+ years driving and maintaining schematics in Cadence Allegro Capture or equivalent
  • Demonstrated end-to-end PCBA validation ownership with bring-up, characterization, FA, and system test
  • Complex motherboard experience with high-performance x86/Arm application processors
  • High-speed digital interface experience: DDR, PCIe, MIPI, Ethernet, DisplayPort, HDMI, USB
  • Low-speed digital interface experience: I2C, UART, SPI, JTAG, GPIO
  • Familiarity with analog and power fundamentals (controller, MOSFETs, op-amps, gate drivers)
  • High-efficiency voltage regulator design and analysis
  • Experience shipping high-volume products from concept to mass production
