Duty hours - 06:00am - 02:45pm, Mon - Fri (scheduled rotation of weekends) Job Summary:
This position conducts daily air-sampling operations with MINICAMS (Miniature Chemical Air Monitoring System), DAAMS (Depot Area Air Monitoring Systems), and other similar air monitoring equipment. This position requires the installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, calibration, testing, and operation of diverse electronic/mechanical equipment and systems in accordance with manufacturers' specifications.
- Conduct near-real time chemical agent monitoring using MINICAMS
- Conduct historical monitoring following manufacturer instructions and air monitoring plans
- Conduct annual updates to the air monitoring plan
- Employ the use of selective samplers with MINICAMS
- Conduct single cycle DAAMS confirmation monitoring
- Ensure technicians remain certified and meet Chemical Personnel Reliability Program requirements
- Comply with established safety procedures
- Complete all associated administrative tasks
Qualifications
- High School Diploma with three years demonstrated experience in electrical or instrument controls, air sampling or equivalent
- Excellent office management skills which may include database entry/management (Windows, Access, MS Office Suite)
- Ability to prioritize, schedule and organize work, and work independently
- Former emergency management HAZMAT technician or Army Technical Escort experience preferred
- Must be able to meet Government Medical Surveillance Program enrollment requirements
- Experienced in Hazardous Materials, Hazardous Waste Management, and Environmental Science
- Must be physically able to wear military protective masks, chemical protective overgarments, and work in lethal toxic hazard areas up to 6 continuous hours
- Must meet installation access requirements
- Must be able to read and write English
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Tools and Applications
- Other duties as assigned
