Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization

The Manager, Touchpoints - Social; Impacts and supports the social media strategy and voice for the Statement team's cultural brand partnership portfolio, driving day to day community engagement and excitement across our adidas Originals social accounts & off channel social extensions. This role supports the creative and strategic development of social content and activation, brings a distinct point of view shaped by streetwear, sneaker, and fashion culture to storytelling, and uses data and platform innovation to continually push where and how the brand shows up. The role ladders into the Lead, Social (M3) and works in close collaboration with the global social team based in Herzogenaurach (HZO) to ensure local execution stays connected to global strategy.


Key Responsibilities


  • Support the social media strategy for the Statement team's cultural brand partnerships, including content, activation, and storytelling frameworks.
  • Partner closely with Storytelling to develop culturally sharp, distinctive social activations and content across all brand digital and social channels.
  • Support global launch plans and social moments tied to key stories, product drops, and partnership activations.
  • Shape the Statement team's social voice and publishing calendar, bringing a bold, culturally fluent point of view rooted in streetwear, sneaker, and fashion/entertainment culture.
  • Craft copywriting for social that ladders into the voice of Originals
  • Identify and develop creator, talent, and partner strategies that extend brand storytelling beyond owned content and conventional platforms.
  • Maintain relationships with regional and market stakeholders to align global social strategy at the local level, working closely with the global newsroom network.
  • Collaborate closely with the global social team based in Herzogenaurach (HZO) to keep local content and activation connected to global strategy and platform standards.
  • Shoot and produce content directly when needed, enabling fast, in-the-moment response to cultural moments and real-time storytelling opportunities.
  • Develop connection plans linking adidas.com/eCom and brand social networks to ensure omnichannel consistency across touchpoints.
  • Partner with the Digital Analytics team to define relevant metrics, track performance, and evolve strategy based on data and platform trends.
  • Build and maintain a network of media, creator, and cultural advocates within the category landscape.
  • Help guide social and media moments (activations, launches, creator collaborations) celebrating Statement products, campaigns, and partnerships.
  • Track and report on the results of social and touchpoints activations, developing summary and insight reports for key stakeholders.
  • Manage and coordinate across multiple agency partners simultaneously, ensuring consistent quality, pacing, and alignment to strategy across each relationship.
  • Act as a proactive member of the Storytelling and wider Touchpoints team, contributing to alignment, integration, and cultural relevance of activations across the portfolio.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a high level of strategic thinking.
  • A true team player - strong understanding of individual contribution paired with desire to be part of a larger team to build the best work
  • Proven experience developing and executing social media strategy, campaigns, and content programs.
  • Deep fluency in and genuine passion for streetwear, sneaker, and fashion/entertainment culture.
  • A distinct, bold, and culturally fluent voice, with the ability to push content ideation in unexpected directions.
  • Experience identifying, building, and activating creator and partner networks to extend storytelling beyond owned content.
  • Curiosity and comfort piloting emerging platforms and formats rather than defaulting to established channels.
  • Hands-on content shooting and production ability, with the reflexes to react quickly and capture moments as they happen.
  • A shooters mentality: no's and setbacks inspire you to showcase alternative solutions / ideas
  • Comfortable operating with a reactive, fast-turnaround mindset alongside longer-range planning.
  • Ability to extract, interpret, and apply data and analytics to inform and optimize social strategy.
  • Experience in social media moderation, community management, and conversation analysis.
  • Ability to manage and collaborate across cross-functional groups: product marketing, communications, digital, and retail.
  • Experience managing multiple agency relationships concurrently, balancing competing priorities and keeping partners aligned to a shared strategy.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.


Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications

  • Degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field. Master's Degree / MBA a plus.
  • 5+ years' industry and/or relevant work experience in social media, digital, or PR.
  • Fluent written and spoken English language skills.

  • At adidas we offer a Hybrid work policy which requires attendance in the office Monday through Thursday, with the flexibility to work remotely on Friday each week. For work requiring a high degree of collaboration or an in-person presentation, in-office attendance is required even on Friday. The working location of this position is Portland, Oregon.
