Purpose: A Senior Material Controller is present to support both construction and procurement, by providing a clear conduit to ensure material visibility and driving readiness against the schedule. Responsibilities:
- Input of material requisitions into the Material Management and Procurement system. Updating quantities and plan dates as needed.
- Manage the procurement and construction interface, ensuring visibility of material readiness throughout, from MTO and Requisition through to site availability.
- Facilitate the necessary interface points and procedures for front end loading material and equipment requirements into the Material.
- Management System to accommodate Advance Work Planning (AWP).
- Coordinate and manage Pipe Spool and Structural Steel Fabrication.
- Running and management of the Dynamic Material Allocation (DMA).
- Identification of shortages vs. Construction demand.
- Identification and support mitigation of material delivery risks to schedule implementation.
- Attendance at construction readiness reviews and schedule planning reviews in line with project gate criteria.
- Liaise with Materials Manager and Warehouse Manager (where appropriate) on material deliveries, material readiness and in conjunction with logistics any special requirements around loadouts.
- Support more junior team members.
- Understand warehouse metrics and contribute to the overall Project Materials Management reporting requirements at commencement of Project and support reviews during Project execution (where required).
- Ensure full compliance and proper use of the material management system to ensure the accuracy of the data.
- Promote Health, Safety, Security and Environment within project team.
What you will bring Technical/Industry Experience and Qualifications Requirements:
- Extensive knowledge of and confident user of Material Management and Procurement systems.
- Good understanding of material specifications and standards (e.g. ASME, ASTM, BS, EN, ATEX, PED, BASEEFA).
- Able to read and provide MTO's from Isometrics and P&ID's.
- IT Literate (Excel/Word etc).
- Experience of development and implementation of Company Procedures.
- Experience in the handling, storing and preservation of project materials and equipment.
- Competent in maintaining and updating project reports accordingly.
- Highly motivated, self-starter with proven track record of leading teams and delivering results.
- Actively promotes company values and business ethics.
- Demonstrates strong commitment to safety.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to adapt and react to change positively.
Education - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training: Required:
- Degree, or equivalent, in Supply Chain, Engineering or related field.
Preferred:
- 5 years of Material Control experience.
