Reports to: Associate Executive Director, Programs

Location: Colorado-based preferred with domestic and international travel required

Bridge of Life (BOL) is a global nonprofit organization founded by DaVita Inc. that focuses on strengthening healthcare systems and expanding access to quality kidney and chronic disease care in underserved communities worldwide.

The role you'd play as a Program Manager at Bridge of Life

BOL is seeking a highly organized, mission-driven Program Manager to support the planning, coordination, and execution of domestic and international kidney health programs. This role ensures programs run smoothly from design through implementation by managing logistics, volunteer coordination, partner communication, timelines, and project execution. The Program Manager serves as a key connector between BOL staff, volunteers, healthcare partners, vendors, and community organizations. This person will help execute programs across BOL's full spectrum of kidney care initiatives from prevention screenings and clinical trainings to dialysis capacity projects.

This role is ideal for a "road warrior" who thrives in fast-paced environments, speaks Spanish, and genuinely enjoys the rigors of international travel. We are looking for a tactical and passionate leader who can navigate intricate logistics while maintaining strong relationships and exceptional attention to detail. Driven by health equity, the successful candidate will have a unique ability to connect with diverse cultures and inspire volunteers to deliver life-changing care in resource-limited settings.

Volunteer Coordination

  • End to end coordination by overseeing logistics, recruitment, onboarding, training and engagement
  • Serve as a project lead and point of contract for volunteers guiding clinical and non-clinical volunteers through daily activities
  • Facilitate pre-mission orientations and on-site training to ensure volunteers are fully prepared to support partners, activities, and patient care
  • Cultivate a collaborative, empathetic, and purpose-driven team environment. Act as a motivating force, ensuring volunteers remain focused, adaptable, and aligned with Bridge of Life's core values
  • Work closely with in-country partners, local health ministries, and community leaders to seamlessly integrate volunteer efforts into sustainable, long-term health initiatives
  • Help track volunteer participation and engagement metrics

Financial & Administrative Support

  • 5+ years of nonprofit, healthcare, global health, event management, or project management experience
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (approximately 35-40% of the time)

Preferred

  • Experience in healthcare or global health programs
  • Volunteer management experience
  • Spanish language skills
  • Experience working in low-resource settings

Ideal Candidate

You are highly organized, capable of anticipating challenges, and skilled at bringing structure to complex environments. You maintain composure under pressure and effectively manage intricate details while remaining focused on the individuals and communities we serve. You excel at both data management and relationship-building, finding satisfaction in driving program success from behind the scenes. With a deep commitment to sustainable global health partnerships, you demonstrate confidence in leading professional teams during international deployments to resource-limited settings. Ultimately, you are adept at seamlessly coordinating across multiple time zones, systems, and volunteer teams, transforming complex logistical challenges into smoothly executed missions.
