Position Highlights

The Office of Undergraduate Admission seeks enthusiastic candidates who are interested in representing the University of Arizona and the division of Enrollment Management. The Regional Coordinator of California Transfer Recruitment is responsible for the development and oversight for all California-based transfer recruitment efforts at an exciting time for the university. With new leadership and a new vision for the institution, the excitement and enthusiasm for the Wildcat experience is palpable, and these critical roles serve as the entry point for prospective transfer students to discover Arizona and the Wildcat community.

The Regional Coordinator of California Transfer Recruitment manages all recruiting aspects of their assigned travel territory (including extensive travel year-round with peak times in the fall and spring) and is responsible for the administrative functions related to their role and proper expenditure of budget resources for recruitment activities, programs, and travel. The Regional Coordinator of California Transfer Recruitment is an effective communicator and creative problem solver, initiating proactive outreach efforts to prospective and incoming Wildcats.

This position interprets admissions policies, academic policies and requirements, and student service policies and procedures, and effectively communicates these along with the Arizona story to prospective students, parents, community college administrators, advisors, community-based organizations and other faculty and staff. This position will also review applicants and determine whether an applicant is academically prepared to succeed at the University of Arizona. They will use training and sound judgment to read, review and evaluate prospective students for admission to the University of Arizona.

This position will work out of a home office and will have a schedule outside of the traditional Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. This position is a regional position for the transfer recruitment team and must be based out of Los Angeles and prepared to travel frequently to surrounding areas and other out of state territories as needed. This position is eligible for a geographic differential, which will be paid in addition to the base salary. The geographic differential for this position when located in the regional area of Los Angeles is 20-25% of the base salary rate. The position will be classified as Exempt from overtime if the combined base salary and geographic differential meet California's requirements for overtime exemption. Changes to the position's exemption classification would not affect the position duties as outlined. Come join this exciting team!

Duties & Responsibilities

Recruitment and Territory Management

  • Acts as the main point of contact from interest to enrollment for students within one's assigned territory.
  • Maintains an in-depth and holistic understanding (through training and continuous research) of the University of Arizona's rankings, academic program offerings, application requirements, policies, and key selling points for all undergraduate degree programs.
  • Manage a personal and office email inbox; Respond in a timely manner to incoming student queries.
  • Maintain an advising appointment calendar and meet regularly with students and families.
  • Manage a phone line with texting and other communication methods; Respond in a timely manner to incoming student queries.
  • Outreach, schedule and prepare virtual presentations for community colleges, universities, partners, parents and families, and staff based on the specific presentation needs.
  • Utilize one's cultural competency and communication skills to expertly execute verbal and written communications in a clear, concise manner.
  • Build a comprehensive virtual and in-person recruitment plan that directly aligns with territory enrollment goals and has strong return on investment.
  • Prepare an estimated travel budget, including flight, hotel, per diem, event and other anticipated costs for recruitment travel.
  • Book all in-country travel needs, including flight, hotel, transportation, logistics, material shipment, etc. and maintain receipts for each booking.
  • Strategically schedule all recruitment activities, plan for sufficient material needs and expertly execute.

Application
Review

  • Review and evaluate undergraduate applications, including transcripts, essays, recommendation letters, extracurriculars and exam scores.
  • Utilizes training, sound personal judgment and experience to consider each student's full academic history, in the context of where a student lived and learned, and other life experiences to make recommendations for admission to the University of Arizona.
  • Assess a student's overall character without bias and determine alignment with institutional values.
  • Understand and interpret transcripts from all countries and educational systems.
  • Analyze application materials for authenticity.
  • Score completed student applications based a predetermined rubric.

Data Entry and Management

  • This role involves a high level of communication via SMS text, email, phone correspondence with active engagement and timely follow up required.
  • Utilize the Slate CRM for student outreach at all stages of the admission funnel; Activities not limited to:
    Call, text, email prospective students as they express interest.
  • Monitor student progress on their application.
  • Ensure completion of all student application materials, specifically ensuring proper transcripts, English proficiency exam scores, essay requirements, resume, etc.
  • Congratulate each admitted student following their offer of admission.
  • Support admitted students in their next steps and arrival tasks.
  • Input and maintain accurate student data.
  • Record all student interactions.
  • Utilize the Slate CRM to manage all recruitment activities and complete follow-up reports within the system following each event/activity.
  • Maintain up-to-date contact information for college counselors, university contacts and government staff.

Relationship Building

  • Maintain professional affiliations including local, regional, and national affiliates as it correlates with the scope of your enrollment goals.
  • Develop and grow partnerships with community college advisors and other community college campus partners.
  • Establish a regional transfer recruitment presence and students' knowledge of the University of Arizona through visible, consistent relationship building in assigned territory.

    deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain a high levels of customer service, and meet students
    where they are.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Skill in building relationships with educators, professionals, students, and
    families.
  • Ability to follow laws and guiding principles of recruitment work, including
    FERPA regulations.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning
    attained through professional level experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, or
    equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and ability to drive according to the
    University Fleet Safety Policy. Must also be able to provide own transportation and be able to travel statewide using all modes of transportation.
  • Fingerprint clearance required and to be completed once hired.
  • This position requires limited international travel. Must have a valid passport.
  • Must live or relocate to live in the greater Los Angeles Metropolitan Area.
