We are currently looking for a Bindery Lead who is responsible for day-to-day operations in Sherwin Bindery including, receiving, warehousing, and transportation activities and personnel. Job Duties Include:
- Prepare finished loads for shipment, including labeling, staging, and record keeping.
- Prepares all inventory inputs and outputs
- Prepare shipping documents for outbound shipments and check accuracy.
- Monitor daily press schedule and bindery reports
- to ensure necessary shipments and demand are completed on time.
- Oversee all Sherwin inventory and basic warehouse operations.
- Provide administrative support on all shipping programs (i.e., Technique/Adsi/FedEx and ups)
- Oversee the management of the department's group emails
- Monitor and maintain the use of all PIV equipment within the bindery
- Assist in Shipping and Receiving function Including.
- Operate trailer locking, dock plate, overhead door, and banding/wrapping equipment as needed.
- Keep warehouse/dock areas secured so that unauthorized personnel are denied access.
- Keep warehouse/dock areas neatly organized and clean.
- Distribute incoming material shipments as needed.
- Perform office functions during shift - driver check-in, paperwork, make labels, etc.
- Communicate with other departments regarding shipping activities as necessary.
- Cover shipping window and be able to provide information or answer questions as needed.
- Ensure that all lift trucks and equipment used on shift are inspected as required.
- Coordinate and maintain a comprehensive communication flow between shifts.
- Track and report to Shipping Manager any problems or issues that arise.
- Assist in training new personnel that are added to the department.
- Responsible for all reports relevant to inventory, shipping and receiving activities.
- Complete various other related tasks as assigned by the Shipping Manager.
Requirements JOB SKILLS:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Basic mathematical aptitude.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, and related software applications.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong interpersonal, customer service, and telephone communication skills.
JOB KNOWLEDGE:
- Thorough understanding of warehouse, shipping, receiving, and transportation operations and processes.
- Working knowledge of equipment, systems, and office technology used within a shipping and receiving environment.
- Familiarity with inventory control, shipping documentation, and logistics procedures is preferred.
EDUCATION & TRAINING:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience in a warehouse or shipping/receiving environment; or
- Seven (7) to ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in warehousing, shipping, receiving, and distribution operations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to perform work requiring frequent use of full range of motion and motor skills involving all major body movements.
- Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday.
