- Coordinate the inventory of power tools, equipment and hoses for Structural crew
- Analyze complex structural ironwork projects and recommend alternative strategies to complete the same project
- Reviewing project status reports prepared by the general foreman and reallocating resources to ensure projects are completed on time.
- Knowledge of applicable safety and code standards specific to the structural ironwork trade, including OSHA standards
- Maintain Safety Accountability Procedures.
- Assure that a high quality of work is being maintained.
- Reviewing individual crew daily Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) for compliance, and attending weekly crew safety meeting to make sure all employees are engaged in conversation
- Have good supervisor skills for managing crews.
- Promote a strong Safety culture within the crews supervised.
- Identify safety hazards you or other employees may be subject to and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards.
- Perform all other job-related duties as requested by supervision.
Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications:
- Minimum of four (4) years or more of refinery maintenance/turnaround/or construction experience.
- Knowledge of structural iron repair, maintenance, and preventative maintenance methods, practices, and procedures
- Must know how to read and interpret structural drawings.
- Must be able to pass the Craft Skills Test at or above 70% or complete the NCCER certification for your craft.
- Must have a good understanding of Matrix Service policies and procedures.
- Completed the Matrix Service Safety training, Process Safety Management training, S.T.A.R.T. Class and Client / Site specific training.
- To obtain and maintain an active status within the required drug testing program.
- Subject to random drug screenings.
- Must be able to complete the Matrix Service Safety training and Client / Site specific training.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an active status within the DISA drug testing program.
Physical Requirements:
- Employee will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting and lifting.
- Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, pull objects, materials, piping and tools.
- Employees will be standing, walking, bending, squatting and lifting.
- Employees must be able to hear, speak, understand and communicate effectively.
- May be required to lift, carry and move up to 50lbs.
- Will work at slight heights, climb ladders and stairways, and may occasionally work from platforms using the appropriate fall protection requirements.
- Must be capable of working outside in the elements including but not limited to the heat, cold, rain, snow, and wind for long periods of time up to 12 hours a day.
- Will use vision abilities to focus, see short and long distances, colors, depth perception and peripheral vision.
- Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and steel-toe boots.

The pay rate will depend on the successful candidate's qualifications and prior experience, specific skill set, geographic location, internal equity, and other factors influencing pay. As such, the actual salary may fall closer to one or the other end of this range, and in certain circumstances, may fall outside the listed hiring range.
