Next Step Adviser (AmeriCorps Volunteer and Duke University Employee), you will be part of a collaborative, mission-driven team supporting students and families as they navigate college admissions and financial aid. You will tailor programs and activities to meet the specific needs of your assigned schools while advancing equitable postsecondary access.
Be Bold. Next Step Advisers are AmeriCorps Volunteers and Duke University Employees. Next Step Advisers will be expected to tailor programs and activities to meet the specific needs of their assigned schools and perform the following primary essential functions:
What You'll Do: Provide one-on-one admissions and financial aid advice to any student or family seeking assistance:
Organize group events that encourage students and their families to consider, plan for, and apply to colleges and universities:
Establish productive working relationships with principals, counselors, and teachers in each assigned high school:
Assist in the assessment and long-term sustainability of the program:
Maintain expertise in admissions and financial aid advising:

Anticipated Pay Range: Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $26,860.00 to USD $38,000.00.
