Job Summary

The Distribution Specialist is responsible for supporting inbound receiving, inventory accuracy, and warehouse operations in a regulated manufacturing environment. This role ensures proper receipt, storage, tracking, and movement of materials in compliance with GMP, transportation, and import/export regulations. The position requires strong attention to detail, ERP system proficiency, and the ability to maintain accurate inventory records while supporting cross-functional warehouse and production activities.

Job Responsibilities



  • Receive inbound shipments for both domestic and international customers.
  • Verify incoming materials and complete all required receiving documentation.
  • Record and post receipt transactions in the ERP system.
  • Assign and move inventory to appropriate warehouse storage locations.
  • Support inventory stocking requests for production and returns processing.
  • Perform cycle counts, inventory reconciliations, and batch verification to ensure accuracy.
  • Maintain proper storage, segregation, and housekeeping standards within warehouse areas.
  • Identify and support corrective actions to mitigate inventory and storage risks.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, safety, and regulatory requirements for material handling.
  • Operate forklifts to move, store, and organize materials as needed (certification required).
  • Assist with shipping, receiving, and general warehouse operations.
  • Participate in inventory projects and process improvement initiatives.
  • Support training requirements and maintain required certifications.
  • Collaborate with materials management, production, quality, and planning teams.
  • Contribute to improving material flow, efficiency, and operational accuracy.


Job Requirements



  • High school diploma required; Associate's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • 1-3 years of warehouse, shipping, or receiving experience required.
  • Knowledge of inbound receiving and inventory control processes.
  • Understanding of dangerous goods transportation and handling preferred.
  • Familiarity with GMP, DOT, IATA, and IMDG regulations preferred.
  • Ability to operate forklifts; certification required or ability to obtain.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and inventory tracking.
  • Basic computer proficiency with ability to learn ERP systems.
  • SAP or similar ERP system experience preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
  • Ability to follow procedures and maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.


Work Experience



  • 1-3 years of warehouse, shipping, or receiving experience required.
  • Experience in regulated or GMP environments preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience performing cycle counts and inventory reconciliation preferred.


Education



  • High school diploma required.
  • Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
