Job Summary

The Class B Driver/Warehouse Associate is responsible for safely operating a flatbed commercial vehicle and supporting warehouse operations in a fast-paced distribution environment. This role involves transporting materials, securing loads, loading and unloading deliveries, and performing general warehouse duties including stocking, staging, and order pulling. The position requires strong attention to safety, the ability to handle physical workloads, and a commitment to accurate and timely deliveries.

Job Responsibilities



  • Safely operate a Class B flatbed truck to deliver materials in accordance with scheduled routes.
  • Load, unload, and secure materials using proper strapping and load restraint procedures.
  • Ensure all loads are properly secured and within weight regulations before transport.
  • Assist with warehouse operations, including stocking, staging, and pulling orders.
  • Perform manual material handling, including loading and unloading shipments.
  • Operate sit-down forklifts as needed (certification may be required after training).
  • Verify delivery tickets, obtain customer signatures, and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Validate delivery instructions and ensure proper routing and directions.
  • Communicate with supervisors throughout the day regarding deliveries and operations.
  • Pick up customer returns and verify product accuracy for credit processing.
  • Retrieve purchase orders and return packing lists and related documentation.
  • Confirm all delivered materials are properly placed and accounted for at delivery sites.
  • Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Comply with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and safety standards.
  • Report vehicle issues, accidents, defects, or violations promptly to supervisors.
  • Maintain professional customer interactions and represent the organization appropriately.
  • Assist with general warehouse duties as assigned.
  • Support operational goals, safety initiatives, and company procedures.
  • Work overtime as required based on operational needs.


Job Requirements



  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
  • Minimum of one year of Class B driving experience required.
  • Must have held a CDL for at least one year.
  • Ability to operate a 30,000 to 54,000 lb flatbed truck (automatic transmission).
  • Experience with loading, unloading, and securing flatbed materials using straps required or willingness to learn.
  • Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs.
  • Experience working in a warehouse environment required.
  • Strong attention to safety procedures and DOT compliance requirements.
  • Ability to operate sit-down forklifts (certification preferred or ability to obtain after training).
  • Experience with electronic logging systems is a plus.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and support warehouse and delivery operations.
  • Must wear required PPE, including steel-toe work boots.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment with frequent lifting, standing, and movement.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
  • Ability to follow company policies, procedures, and safety standards.


Education



  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.


Work Experience



  • Minimum of 1 year of Class B commercial driving experience required.
  • Warehouse experience strongly preferred.
  • Flatbed hauling and load securement experience preferred but not required.
  • Forklift experience preferred.
  • Experience in delivery, logistics, or distribution environments preferred.
