| Posting Summary |
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Regional Nurse Administrator for the Monmouth North office for the Child Health Program within the School of Nursing. The Regional Nurse Administrator (
RNA) is the key nursing administrator representing the Child and Family Nurse Program (
CFNP) within the assigned New Jersey Department of Children and Families (
DCF)/Child Protection and Permanency (CP&P) area. The
RNA provides administrative and clinical systems and activities for an assigned
DCF/CP&P area. As a member of the
CFNP leadership team, the
RNA participates in program strategic planning, development and implementation of program initiatives, and program evaluation. The
RNA is the key liaison to the
DCF/CP&P Area Director for the assigned
DCF/CP&P area and provides nursing expertise at an area and systems level to ensure a smooth interface between
CFNP and
DCF/CP&P systems and personnel, as well as health care planning consistent with the best interests of the child and family, within the scope of Rutgers and
DCF/CP&P policies and within the scope of nursing practice as defined by the New Jersey Board of Nursing. In all activities, the
RNA maintains the standards of nursing practice for Rutgers School of Nursing and supports the philosophy, goals, and objectives of the Child and Family Nurse Program.
Duties include:
- Represents CFNP and CFNP leadership at various meetings with DCF/CP&P, as well as community serviceorganizations, health care providers/facilities, and parent organizations.
- As a key nursing liaison for the assigned DCF/CP&P area, communicates regularly with the DCF/CP&P Area Director,Local Office Managers and other DCF/CP&P leadership through phone contact, email, meetings, and case conferences toaddress systems, personnel or specific clinical issues and to collaborate on effective, mutually agreeable solutions.
- Orients, directly supervises, guides, and evaluates Child and Family Nurse staff in the assigned DCF/CP&P area, includingmaintaining regular communication and supervision, conducting initial/annual performance reviews, and implementingany necessary performance improvement plans or progressive discipline.
- Monitors all Child and Family Nurse caseloads and coordination of assignments; directs necessary adjustments to assuretimely delivery of the full range of contracted nursing services in all currently funded local offices within the assignedDCF/CP&P area

- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or BA / BS degree in a health-related field.
- Supervisory experience
- Current certification in American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.
- Vehicle and valid New Jersey license required for regional/statewide travel.
- This position requires computer literacy/computer skills.
- This position includes travel to all currently funded locations where a CFN is assigned.

- Master's Degree in Nursing or a health-related field
- Two (2) years experience with community health nursing, nursing case management, or nursing care of vulnerable families
