Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Behavior Analyst (Outreach) for the Douglass Development Disability Center. The position reports to the Associate Director of Consultation and Communications.

Among the key duties of the position are the following:

  • Supervises and monitors the services and programs related to the education of children and adults with autism and their families within an assigned caseload through the DDDC's Outreach unit.
  • Ensures best practice applied behavior analysis procedures are maintained and applied in the education and treatment of children and adults in community settings.

Qualifications






Minimum Education and Experience
  • Master's degree in Education, Psychology, Behavior Analysis, Speech or related field and a minimum of 5 years of experience working with individuals with autism.
Certifications/Licenses

  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
  • A valid driver's license is required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience training and supervising other staff in the delivery of behavior analytic services.
  • Advanced knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis.
  • Following training, must be physically capable of safely providing crisis management techniques including restraining, lifting, blocking individuals with challenging behaviors.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Specific training in functional analysis, treatment analysis, single case design, and preference assessments is preferred.

  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Employee must be physically active.
  • Duties may involve running and playing active games with individuals from 2 - 21 years of age.

Special Conditions

  • In accordance with New Jersey State law, applicants must agree to undergo and authorize the University to conduct fingerprint, criminal history and/or child abuse record checks with various law enforcement agencies, including, but not limited to: the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Identification Division and/or the New Jersey Division of State Police, Bureau of Identification.
  • Applicants must also assume any costs incurred by the university associated with the background investigations, whether required by statute or not.
  • In accordance with state mandated requirements, a Mantoux test will be administered to the successful applicant to verify the absence of tuberculosis.
  • In addition, the successful applicant, at the cost of the University, will be required to be inoculated against Hepatitis B unless the successful applicant waives this vaccination in writing.
