RESPONSIBILITIES:



Assist the Quality Systems Manager (QSM) with an emphasis on Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) monitoring and reporting.


Conduct and coordinate audits and training associated with EHS.



Assist QSM in maintaining Safety Binders.



Assist leadership in maintaining and reporting quarterly Safe Operating Plant Assessments.



Work with and monitor Safety Committee, helping to schedule meetings and track annual requirements.


Follow all company safety rules and lock-out tag-out procedures.


Escort vendors who need access to the production floor, as needed.



Other duties as assigned.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:



Education equivalent to high school diploma required.



1+ year previous work experience in a quality or EHS role with tracking and reporting functions.



Strong working knowledge of computer systems including Microsoft Office preferably with exceptional knowledge of Microsoft Excel.


Be passionate about maintaining a safe work environment.


Must be willing to work early or late occasionally, as needed, to train and/or audit the 3rd shift.


Possess an understanding that temperatures and volumes of work may vary.



Must be authorized to work in the U.S.



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:



3+ year previous work experience in a quality or EHS role with tracking and reporting functions.



Working knowledge of ISO and continuous improvement principles.



Experience in a corrugated or packaging environment.



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:



Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with production personnel, supervisors and management.



Ability to share ideas with others to solve problems of essential importance.


Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively to solicit buy-in from various audiences.



Previous work experience as a member of a team, or a strong understanding of the importance of open communication and information sharing between team members.



Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple projects and/or requests concurrently.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS




  • Starting salary for position: $30.70 per hour.
  • Bonus: Annual - Based upon achievement of plant performance metrics.
  • Paid Vacation: 2 days after 6 months of employment. 1 week on anniversary date of 1st year. Pro-rata Vacation during the second year of hire based upon start date within the calendar year. 2 weeks after 2 full years of employment.
