| Position Summary |
The Maintenance Team Lead provides frontline supervisory oversight and hands-on technical support for the daily preventative and reactive maintenance operations of University Residence Halls and other Student Life areas. Reporting to the Associate Director of Facilities, this position leads a team of maintenance mechanics in ensuring safe, functional, and well-maintained environments. The Team Lead serves as a primary point of contact for maintenance coordination, quality control, and staff development within Housing and Residence Life. Trades and systems that the maintenance team works in and around on a routine basis include plumbing, electrical/electronics,
HVAC, fire protection, carpentry, and locksmith.
The purpose of this position is to provide a safe, clean, and comfortable living and learning environment in the residence halls and designated student life areas of the University of North Carolina at Asheville. This position is highly visible throughout the department and the University. This position interacts on a frequent basis with students, staff, faculty, and visitors of the University. All Housing and Residence Life staff are expected to represent the department and university well in these interactions. |

| Work Schedule and Hours |
The schedule is primarily Monday - Friday 8:00am -4:30pm. Due to the nature of position and department needs there will be occasional weekend or after hours work. In most cases these are scheduled in advance. There may be times where this position would be asked to fill in for the on-call rotation and if so they are compensated accordingly. All Housing and Residence Life staff are designated as critical personnel in accordance with
UNC Asheville policy. |
