WORK SHIFT: First Shift (United States of America)
JOB DESCRIPTION: Automation Technician I, Entry Level, installs, maintains, repairs, and troubleshoots automated machinery, robotic systems, and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) to ensure maximum production efficiency and minimal downtime. Key duties include preventative maintenance, diagnosing electro-mechanical malfunctions, and programming or configuring automated equipment. Some positions can be hybridized, with contributions focused on a specialty.
Perform routine, preventative maintenance on automated equipment, robots and conveyor systems to ensure optimal performance. Diagnose and fix malfunctions in electro-mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, determining if issues are mechanical, electrical, or software based. Program, configure, and troubleshoot PLC and other control systems Install, calibrate, and test new automation hardware and software components. Mainatin accurate records of repairs, maintenance, parts usage and system modifications Adhere to all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures, while working on dangerous machinery. Collaborate with Engineers to design, implement, and improve automated processes.
Follows all safety procedures required in work area, wears PPE as needed, attends all safety meetings, and reports safety issues regarding equipment or unsafe/hazardous conditions.

Associate's Degree or completion of vocational training in Automation Technology, Robotics Technology, or similar technical discipline with 3 years of related experience or 6 years of experience in a similar role, such as maintenance, and ability to demonstrate the required skills Communicates effectively, both written and verbally, in English, to all levels within the organization. Must be able to work with both fractions and decimals and have the ability to apply concepts of basic math and geometry. Must also be able to convert between inch and metric values. Ability to operate conventional mills and lathes, proper and safe use of hand tools and power tools, including drilling and tapping holes. Mechanical aptitude for machine assembly and integration. Proper and safe use of hand tools and power tools, including drilling and tapping holes. Knowledge and experience with NEC, ANSI, and OSHA codes and regulations as they pertain to automated equipment and safety systems. Working knowledge of pneumatic control circuits and electro-pneumatic troubleshooting, electrical control panel assembly and wiring, electrical control circuit design and troubleshooting, PLC programming and troubleshooting. Able to read, interpret, and navigate AutoCAD and SolidWorks drawings and models. Ability to travel to multiple facilities and suppliers in the USA and possibly internationally. Ability to manage multiple conflicting and sometimes changing priorities.
Has the ability to adapt quickly to new projects and assignments while being dedicated and an innovative problem solver. Is also a creative thinker who is results-oriented, focused, and attentive to detail and accuracy.
