Senior Cost Accountant Manufacturing Finance \| Direct Hire Are you a hands-on manufacturing finance professional who enjoys digging into costs, improving processes, and partnering with operations to drive business performance? We are seeking an experienced Senior Cost Accountant to join a growing manufacturing organization where you'll play a key role in financial reporting, cost analysis, inventory management, and operational decision-making. In this highly visible role, you will help ensure financial accuracy, identify cost-saving opportunities, improve reporting processes, and provide critical insights that support business growth and profitability. What You'll Do Financial Reporting & Close Activities Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives Cost Accounting & Manufacturing Analysis Analyze manufacturing costs including labor, materials, overhead, and burden rates Monitor and report inventory valuation, work-in-process (WIP), and job costing activity Investigate and explain manufacturing variances and cost trends Develop recommendations to improve cost efficiency and profitability Partner with Operations and Supply Chain teams to identify opportunities for process improvements Inventory & Operational Finance Support physical inventory counts and cycle count programs Ensure accurate inventory accounting and valuation methodologies Assist in developing standard costs and maintaining cost structures Monitor inventory reserves and obsolescence reporting Business Partnership & Continuous Improvement Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Leadership teams to support strategic business initiatives Develop KPIs, dashboards, and financial reporting tools to improve visibility into operational performance Support internal and external audits and maintain compliance with company policies and controls Drive process improvements that enhance efficiency, reporting accuracy, and financial performance Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 5+ years of accounting experience within a manufacturing environment 3+ years of cost accounting experience Strong understanding of: Manufacturing accounting Inventory valuation Standard and actual costing Job costing Variance analysis Financial reporting Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables, lookups, and financial modeling Experience working with ERP systems Preferred Experience with Infor Visual ERP CPA or CMA certification Aerospace, defense, industrial manufacturing, or government contracting experience Experience supporting multi-site manufacturing operations Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a continuous improvement mindset Why Join Us?
