Summary Description: Coordinates the supply chain and manufacturing/production activities within or across one or more value streams to optimize resource use, minimize costs and maintain quality standards. This includes planning, managing and reviewing production operations to safely achieve output and quality objectives, monitoring expenditures and forecasting resource inputs.

Use continuous improvement tool and methods to ensure the manufacturing of products have keen focus on Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity, and Cost. Lead, coach and inspire others to action in order to accomplish multiple objectives with a sense of urgency, while maintaining high morale. Provide strong employee relations and leadership skills to acquire and develop talent.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the desired quantities and quality of products are manufactured on schedule in a safe manner at minimum cost.
  • Anticipates manufacturing difficulties and plans alternate options. Demonstrates leadership in the assigned group of processes. Develops standard work.
  • Maintain active communication with department leaders in sales, engineering, quality, maintenance, and shipping.
  • Monitor the value stream of products and analyze the inbound and outbound logistics of parts and finished products.
  • Lead events using continuous improvement methods to increase productivity.
  • Review daily production schedule and take appropriate action to meet shipping schedules.
  • Ensure work produced is performed in a safe and productive manner.
  • Be a champion of safety. Complete safety kaizens and address concerns immediately.
  • Supervise and coach work force both hourly and salary

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Business / other applicable field, or 10+ years relevant work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in supervisory role, preferably in manufacturing environment.
  • 5+ years of hands on experience with Oracle transactions/Ops systems.
  • This position is based in the Knappco facility in Hamilton, OH.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 years of machine shop experience
  • Working knowledge of Lean systems and tools
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Leadership/mentoring skills and prior supervisor experience desired
  • Listen and communicate effectively with production and office employees

  • High level of customer focus and ability to maintain a positive attitude at all times.
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor at all times with customers and coworkers. Fully observe Dover's Code of Ethical Conduct, Employee Handbook "Personal Conduct of Employees" policies and ISO 9001 Quality System Standards
  • Self-directed, positive and ethical role model able to work with minimal supervision.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment. The employee may occasionally work near moving mechanical parts while on shop floor.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to Sit, stand, walk, talk, write, lift, work with hands both in an office and shop floor environment.

Bonus Eligible: This position is eligible to earn a discretionary bonus based on performance metrics and other criteria outlined in our applicable bonus plan.
