About the Opportunity:

The Resistance Welder II performs spot, stitch, and seam welding on a variety of metal alloys in a manufacturing environment. This role produces quality welds in accordance with established specifications and standards and supports required testing and documentation activities. This position performs resistance welding only and does not involve fusion welding.

Location: Eastford, CT

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and fit components for welding with or without fixtures.
  • Perform spot, stitch, and seam welding on various metal alloys.
  • Follow welding specifications, work instructions, and quality requirements without deviation.
  • Inspect completed work to verify compliance with specifications.
  • Perform metallurgical reviews and document results in accordance with established procedures.
  • Complete required production tests and accurately document results.
  • Maintain and dress welding electrodes to ensure consistent weld quality.
  • Identify and report equipment, process, or quality concerns.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum one (1) year of resistance welding experience or completion of a recognized resistance welding training program.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations required for metallurgical reviews and production testing.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow welding specifications, work instructions, and quality documentation.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time bases without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
  • Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience performing spot, stitch, and seam welding in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with a variety of metal alloys.
  • Familiarity with metallurgical testing and weld evaluation methods.
  • Experience completing production and quality documentation.
  • Knowledge of welding electrode maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Experience using fixtures, gauges, and measuring tools.
  • Experience working in a quality-controlled manufacturing environment.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled, well-lit, and reasonably clean aerospace manufacturing environment. Noise levels are generally below 80 decibels.
  • Work is performed on the production floor with required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, and other task-specific equipment.
  • The role requires standing, walking, climbing stairs, and moving throughout the manufacturing area during daily activities.
  • The job may occasionally involve stooping, bending, reaching, kneeling, crouching, crawling, or lifting items up to 25 pounds.
  • Work requires frequent use of hands and arms to handle, position, fit, inspect, and resistance weld metal components.
  • Extended periods of focus and attention to detail are required when performing welding operations, inspecting weld quality, conducting metallurgical reviews, and completing production documentation.
