HVAC Controls Field Engineer - Systems That Think Join us as a Controls Engineer, where you will design smart HVAC control systems that power comfort and efficiency. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: To successfully perform this role, an individual must be able to carry out each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements outlined below represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for the position. - Develop HVAC control drawings, schedules, submittals, sequences of operations, material lists, network layouts, electrical schematics, and as-built drawings; select hardware designs from multiple control vendors.
- Design HVAC control programs and Building Automation Systems.
- Collaborate closely with subcontractors, technicians, and mechanics to understand, coordinate, and support project agreements and scopes of work.
- Assist with compiling cost estimates and preparing proposals; provide technical recommendations for projects.
- Order and verify project materials.
- Assist in providing direction and support to field teams during the installation and execution of contracts.
- Perform and assist with commissioning controls and associated equipment.
- Provide support to design engineers and project managers throughout all phases of the project.
- Manage operations safely and in accordance with company policies and procedures; proactively work to minimize hazards and avoid or manage claims.
- Actively pursue continuous self-study to maintain a competitive edge in the industry and stay current with company standards, practices, and product lines; complete required certifications.
- Participate in programs, policies, and initiatives that support the overall success of the company and corporation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience:
- Completion of a technical program in a related field, OR fulfillment of a related Jamar internship program.
- Must demonstrate strong technical aptitude and advanced computer proficiency, including expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, Visio, and foundational Windows operating systems.
- Must possess in-depth knowledge of engineering principles, HVAC system design and commissioning, and a solid understanding of business operations within the building systems industry.
- Must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with proven interpersonal abilities to represent the company ethically and professionally, in alignment with its core values and mission.
Other Details:
- This position will report in-person to Duluth, MN.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license with the willingness and ability to travel to client sites/customer locations.

Compensation & Benefits:
- The expected hourly compensation range for this position is $27.20-$40.80. Compensation offered to the selected candidate will vary depending on relevant knowledge, skills, training, experience, and market conditions.
