The Controls Technician lives at the intersection of electricity, logic, and instinct-chasing down issues others can't see and restoring order before disruption takes hold. If buildings had nervous systems, this role would be the one keeping the signals moving.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

- Troubleshoot and replace building automation system controllers and devices.
- Service and repair system sensors and devices.
- Demonstrate proficiency in electrical principles and safety practices in both high- and low-voltage applications.
- Diagnose and address low-voltage electrical issues and network-related problems.
- Perform controls-specific preventive maintenance to identify potential system issues.
- Maintain accurate service documentation and as-built records.
- Manage materials needed to complete assigned service work and projects.
- Assist with project work, including system installations and upgrades, as needed.
- Assist with system checkout, commissioning, and closeout for assigned projects, as needed.
- Assemble temperature control panels, as needed.
- Install HVAC temperature controls, including:
- Control panels
- Control wiring
- Control devices
- Electrical metallic tubing (EMT)
- Demonstrate an internalized, safety-driven mindset in the completion of all work.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with customers and co-workers.
- Participate in ongoing process evaluation and continuous improvement efforts.
Required Education & Experience:
- 1-year technical diploma in HVAC/Mechanical, Building Automation/Automation Technology, Electrical, or related field of study, OR equivalent directly-related work experience, is required.
- Experience with HVAC temperature controls service and installation is preferred.
- Experience with Tridium Niagara and Distech Controls is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of information technology networking is preferred.
Other Details:
- This position will support the Eau Claire, WI territory and surrounding areas.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license with the willingness and ability to travel to client sites/customer locations.
- May include longer days and weekend work as needed for project support.

Compensation & Benefits:
- Wages and other benefits are paid in accordance with the Local 434 Collective Bargaining Agreement.
