The University of Southern California Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join its faculty as a Clinical Instructor in our division of gynecologic oncology. Under the guidance of the gynecologic oncology faculty, and in accordance with standardized procedures, this practitioner would perform histories and physical examinations, treat common episodic and chronic health conditions, counsel patients and families, monitor patient progress, and assist with medical research projects within the scope of gynecologic oncology. The practitioner will both see new patients with gynecologic oncology faculty and see surveillance patients on their own. Also, the practitioner will at times assess patients receiving chemotherapy and will see chemotherapy patients in the infusion center who are having problems. The practitioner will evaluate patients coming into the Emergency Treatment Center, respond to patient phone calls and communicate results. The practitioner will work in collaboration with other health care team members, consulting and referring as appropriate, but retains responsibility for ongoing clinical management of the patients. Last, the practitioner will function as a resource to nurses and ancillary staff at other divisional practice sites. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education:

Master's Degree- Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing (MSN).

Minimum Experience:

3 Years of Clinical work experience working as a Nurse Practitioner in Women's Health or Oncology

Required Licensure/Certifications:

Current State of California license as a Registered Nurse (RN)

Current Nurse Practitioner license from CA Board of Registered Nursing

Nurse Practitioner Furnisher (CA DCA) - Current Furnishing license to furnish medications in the State of California.

Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) Certificate issued by the U.S. Department of Justice for Schedule II-V controlled substances.

NP Board Certified - Possession of National Board Certification in Nurse Practitioner area of specialty accredited by Accreditation Board of Specialty Nursing (ABSNC) or National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA).

Chemotherapy Administration Certification (preferred)

If work in Hospital/Acute Care Setting must have Certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) upon hire.*Grandfathered from Acute Care Certification requirement if hired/transferred prior to 12/2015. This certification is preferred, but optional.

Current BLS Certification - Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association

Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) - If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only)

The salary range for this position is $170,000-$185,000.
