Job Overview

Title: Sr. Production Manager

Reports to: VP of Operations

Location: Kent, WA - onsite


Type: Exempt, Full-Time

Schedule Type: Monday - Friday Day Shift; may need to work on an off shift or during the weekend on occasion.


Role Overview

The Sr. Production Manager role is a critical leadership position within the organization, partnering closely with the VP of Operations to drive productivity, cost performance, and operational excellence. This leader will oversee and develop the Production Leadership team across 3 shifts, building a strong leadership pipeline from entry-level production talent through front-line leaders and Value Stream Production Managers. The ideal candidate is energized by coaching others, strengthening accountability, and creating high-performing teams while delivering on safety, quality, and on-time delivery. This role also requires strong business acumen, including understanding operational drivers, labor and productivity trends, and the financial impact of decisions across the shop.

Salary Range for position: $123,000 to $160,000. The pay range and total compensation package listed above is the expected pay offered for this position at the start of employment. Your pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to your relevant experience/level, experience level, and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other employees. Responsibilities

  • Drive shop-wide productivity and continuous improvement initiatives that deliver measurable cost savings and stronger operational performance.
  • Ensure high levels of safety, quality, and execution throughout the facility while reinforcing a culture of accountability and operational discipline.
  • Set and monitor production and operational metrics, identify performance gaps, and lead actions that improve customer service, on-time delivery, and throughput.
  • Use operational and financial data to guide decisions, understand cost drivers, and improve labor efficiency, productivity, and resource utilization.
  • Develop the production leadership bench by coaching Value Stream Production Managers and helping them grow leads, supervisors, and high-potential team members across all shifts.
  • Partner with HR to support recruiting, onboarding, training, career development, and employee relations processes.
  • Promote quality assurance efforts by ensuring timely responses to questions, identifying root causes, and implementing effective corrective actions.
  • Partner with the VP of Operations to establish annual goals and objectives for direct reports, monitor progress, and strengthen leadership capability across the organization.
  • Lead succession planning efforts for production teams by identifying and developing talent from entry-level production through emerging leaders and experienced experts.
  • Conduct performance reviews and performance planning for production leadership and support calibration across teams.
  • Ensure development and maintenance of appropriate SWI (Standard Work Instructions) that support safe, repeatable, and efficient operations.
  • Provide audit support through the generation of timely, accurate schedules, reports, and documentation.
  • Support the VP of Operations with special projects, operational reporting, and workflow productivity improvements.
  • Review and maintain a working knowledge of all TransDigm and company policies.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of ERP functionality (Infor Syteline, Shop-Trak a plus) and the ability to use production data to improve decision-making.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills for trend analysis, reporting, and operational performance tracking.
  • Demonstrated ability to connect operational metrics to business and financial performance, including labor efficiency, productivity, cost, and throughput.
  • Strong leadership and coaching capability with experience building teams, developing managers, and creating accountability across multiple shifts.
  • Ability to produce effective internal and external communications and deliver presentations with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • High degree of integrity with the ability to work with confidential employee information discreetly and appropriately with solid documentation.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to travel approximately 5-10% of the time; however, most travel will be within the PNW.
  • Read/Write/Communicate in English.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. An export license will be required to work in all areas of the facility for non-US persons.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening.



Preferred Education/Previous Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience.
  • 10+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience, including leading leaders and developing high-performing production teams.
  • Experience building leadership capability and succession pipelines in a multi-shift production environment.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 and Nadcap requirements.



Essential Mental/Physical Demands

Standing/walking for long periods of time in a manufacturing environment. Extensive use of hands in writing, computer, and other office equipment. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. on an occasional basis. Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
