Summary Job Description: Registered Nurse, Dialysis Unit Overview: Dialysisunit services all inpatients that require hemodialysis, therapeutic plasma exchange, or plasmapheresis during their hospital admission; either within the department and/or critical care areas. The Registered Nurse implements professional nursing practice centered on the patient as awhole person and the creation of a caring environment focused on healing and wellness. Nursingpractices are based on evidence and current research as well as hospital and department policies andprocedures, regulatory standards, and professional guidelines. As a clinical nurse, this individual spends majority of his/hertime (> 50%) coordinating, ensuring, and providing direct patient care activities on the unit through: provisionof nursing rounds, assessments, and treatments; facilitating admission, transfer, and discharge activities;provision of patient and family-centered education; care coordination and individualized treatment planning asapplicable, etc.
Minimum Education, Experience, Training and Licensures Required:
Current RN licensure or work permit in Kentucky. Bachelor's or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university. Basic life support [must be obtained within 30 days of hire.] ACLS/PALS/NRP and successful completion of dysrhythmia class as required by department of Assignment. Those with an associate degree in nursing and less than 10 years of experience must enroll within 12 months of hire in a bachelor's degree program and musthave achieved the degree within 5 years.
