Manufacturing Study Specialist - Industrial Strategy

The Manufacturing Study Specialist is responsible for coordinating the development of investment in manufacturing studies for next generation and new model programs. The Specialist will lead, facilitate and coordinate the activities of the study team, serve as the liaison with Product Engineering and technical estimation specialists as well as develop and audit final deliverables. The Specialist will also coordinate Product Committee, Industrial Committee, Allocation Committee, and Global Product Committee meeting preparation activities, ensure manufacturing related information is properly utilized, confirm proper investment values based on scope and resolve conflicts with the engineering teams. The study specialist will be empowered to push Design to Manufacturing (DTM) principles to reduce overall capex requirements and reduce the gap between framing and forecast. The person in this position will be expected to effectively communicate with and routinely present to senior management in engineering, product development, program management and manufacturing.

Basic Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3+ years of manufacturing experience
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes/tooling with a focus on Body in White (BIW), Paint, General Assembly, Logistics, Stamping and/or Quality
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office PowerPoint and Excel
  • Strong organizational/project management skills
  • Self-Motivated, with ability to handle multiple projects at once and able to successfully achieve results under time pressure
  • Must have the ability to work with all levels of management while establishing and maintaining lines of communication


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Vehicle Assembly and/or Vehicle Launch experience
  • Experience with cost estimation for tooling and automation within the manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of the vehicle development process and DTM principles
  • Travel required: 10-20% (plant visits and field checks)
