Department Summary:

Our extensive experience in fetal care has shown that the sooner we can accurately diagnose a fetal anomaly, the better the chances of survival and a higher quality of life. That's why, in addition to our focus on diagnosing, treating, and caring for pregnancies with high-risk fetal conditions, we're equally committed to cutting-edge research to enhance fetal and newborn medicine.

Our multidisciplinary approach means that you'll receive a comprehensive care plan built around constant communication with you and your primary obstetrics team and access to a range of diagnostics, interventions and therapies, genetic testing and counseling, and other services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • The Nursing Director will collaborate, plan, organize and oversee the daily clinical operations of the Fetal Care and Surgery Center
  • Prepare staff schedules, requests and allocate resources and facilitate coordination of care/services to meet patient care operation requirements.
  • Develop, recommend and implement internal standards, policies and procedures to improve quality and cost effectiveness of patient care.
  • Select, supervise, and evaluate nursing and clinical support personnel, and develop and provide staff education/development programs.
  • Lead and participate in hospital, departmental and multidisciplinary programs, committees and special projects.
  • Facilitate, monitor and lead participation in survey readiness and regulatory compliance activities/requirements.
  • Maintain standards for patient safety and quality of care and ensuring exceptional patient and family experience
  • Address concerns in partnership with patient relations around patient and family satisfaction
Schedule:
  • Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week
Minimum Qualifications

Education:
  • MSN required

Experience:
  • Minimum of 8 years of RN experience with at least 5 years of progressive nursing leadership in a supervisory or nurse leader role. (Surgical, Obstetric, or PICU/NICU)
  • Excellent leadership, team building and collaboration skills.
  • Analytical skills to resolve highly complex problems requiring the application of clinical, scientific or technical principles, theories, and concepts and in-depth, cross-functional experienced-based knowledge.
  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written) to effectively collaborate and problem solve

Licensure/ Certifications:
  • Current MA license as a Registered Nurse.

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.

Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
