Purpose of the Role
Play an integral role in representing the owner's interests and supporting successful project delivery as the IMPT Change Management/Owner's Representative. In this role, you will serve as a key liaison between project stakeholders, contractors, and leadership teams to ensure project changes are effectively managed, communicated, and executed in alignment with business objectives. You will be responsible for supporting change management initiatives across complex capital projects while helping maintain alignment between scope, schedule, cost, and operational priorities. This position requires a collaborative professional who can navigate evolving project environments, build strong stakeholder relationships, and provide clear oversight throughout the project lifecycle.
Core Responsibilities
- Serve as the owner's representative on assigned projects, ensuring project activities align with organizational goals, standards, and expectations.
- Support and facilitate project change management processes, including identification, evaluation, communication, documentation, and implementation of project changes.
- Coordinate with project management, engineering, procurement, construction, and operations teams to assess impacts related to scope, schedule, cost, and risk.
- Act as a key point of contact between internal stakeholders, contractors, consultants, and external partners.
- Monitor project execution activities to ensure alignment with approved project plans, timelines, and operational objectives.
- Participate in project meetings, reviews, and stakeholder discussions to provide guidance and maintain project alignment.
- Review project documentation, reports, schedules, forecasts, and change requests for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with project requirements.
- Support project controls activities related to cost tracking, scheduling coordination, forecasting, and reporting.
- Identify project risks, issues, and potential impacts while working collaboratively with teams to develop practical mitigation strategies.
- Conduct periodic site visits to monitor project progress, validate reporting, and strengthen stakeholder engagement.
- Prepare presentations, reports, and project updates for leadership and client stakeholders.
- Promote collaboration, transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement across project teams.
- Provide guidance and support to project team members while contributing to a positive and high-performing work environment.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, company procedures, and project governance requirements.
What You'll Bring to the Role
- University degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Project Management, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Typically 7+ years of experience supporting capital projects, owner's representation, project management, change management, or project controls activities within the energy, chemicals, resources, or industrial sectors.
- Strong understanding of project lifecycle management, project delivery methodologies, and change management practices.
- Experience working in complex engineering and construction project environments with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
- Ability to evaluate project impacts related to scope, cost, schedule, and operational requirements.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to build trust and influence decision-making across all organizational levels.
- Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and foster collaboration between internal and external project stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Experience reviewing project schedules, forecasts, reporting metrics, and project documentation.
- Familiarity with project controls tools and systems, including scheduling and reporting platforms such as Primavera P6 and related applications.
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and provide leadership within dynamic project environments.
