What You'll Do As a Senior Medical Equipment Planner I, you'll lead complex planning efforts-translating clinical needs into coordinated equipment scopes, budgets, and specifications; guiding user groups and design teams; and stewarding procurement and installation to deliver safe, efficient healthcare environments.
- Establish new client relationships and maintain ongoing client satisfaction throughout planning and delivery.
- Lead interviews to verify medical equipment requirements; recommend best practices and equipment based on service lines.
- Attend/lead onsite and virtual planning sessions, user group meetings, OAC, and designteam coordination across SD, DD, CD, CA, and Procurement & Equipment Management phases.
- Develop the Medical Equipment Responsibilities Matrix; distribute updates to the full project team.
- Plan roombyroom equipment using ESP (proprietary software); implement client standards and identify design/equipment conflicts early.
- Coordinate with the Revit design team for FF&E placement; manage vendor submittals for incorporation into project drawings.
- Develop and update budgets; source equipment for quotes; analyze RFPs and support pricing negotiations at the client's request.
- Conduct equipment inventories; evaluate reuse vs. replacement; maintain awareness of emerging products and technologies.
- Review drawings and coordinate equipment requirements; ensure clear communication with architects, contractors, and facility personnel.
- Develop procurement and delivery strategies when contracted; manage POs, storage, delivery, installation, and operational verification.
- Provide final reports and equipment documentation at project completion; support movemanagement activities as required.
- Research markets, attend conferences/trade shows, and share insights to inform planning and specifications.
Who We're Looking For Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and / or related experience in the Healthcare environment and / or Clinical arena
- 6-8 years of medical equipment planning or clinical experience
- Experience planning large complex projects in the acute care setting
- Understanding of architectural and design schedules and the ability to coordinate equipment programming with building design and construction
- Background in project management, construction management, architecture, design or project strategy planning preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with Revit and AutoCAD and interpreting architectural drawings.
- Understanding of hospital/clinic procedures and department functions; knowledge of appropriate allocation of medical equipment.
- Budget skills and accounting awareness to create/maintain project equipment budgets with accuracy.
- Clear writing, strong presentations, speech clarity, and active listening; detailoriented with sound judgment and organization.
- Customerfocused collaborator able to orchestrate multiple activities across clients, architects, contractors, and vendors.
