Compensation At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members, and we are committed to transparency in our pay practices. The estimated annual base salary range for this position is $128,084-$169,711.3. Individual pay within this salary range is determined by several compensable factors, including performance, knowledge, job-related skills and experience, and relevant education or training. This role is also eligible for S&C's annual incentive plan (AIP), subject to eligibility criteria. Join Our Team as a Manager-Production Planning! Are you passionate about Supply & Logistics? S&C Electric Company is seeking a dynamic individual to coordinate our production planning function. As a Manager-Production Planning, you'll be crucial in ensuring smooth operations and supporting our diverse team. The Manager, Production Planning, is responsible for leading and optimizing all aspects of production planning, scheduling, and inventory management to support business objectives, customer demand, and operational efficiency within Vista Operations. This role provides strategic direction, ensures cross-functional alignment, and drives continuous improvement across planning processes. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and develop the Production Planning team; drive performance, succession planning, and capability growth.
- Set priorities and expectations aligned to business goals; foster an inclusive, high-performance culture.
Support hiring, training, and team development to enable operational growth. - Own production planning strategy aligned to business goals, customer demand, and SIOP/S&OP.
- Develop and manage the Master Production Schedule (MPS) to balance service, inventory, and capacity.
- Ensure accurate forecasting, capacity planning, and scheduling across operations.
- Drive schedule attainment (90%) through proactive planning and issue resolution.
- Oversee production plans, forecasts, and planning parameters (lead times, safety stock, ATP) in ERP/MRP.
- Align demand, materials, labor, and equipment capacity to minimize disruptions.
- Act as escalation point for planning constraints; partner with Manufacturing to optimize throughput and adherence.
- Collaborate cross-functionally (Supply Chain, Procurement, Logistics) to ensure material flow.
- Oversee inventory accuracy (raw, WIP, finished goods) and replenishment strategies.
- Monitor material flow end-to-end; track KPIs (turns, accuracy, cycle counts) and drive improvements.
- Ensure ERP master data integrity supporting planning processes.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives (standardization, A3); drive data-based performance improvements.
- Establish planning policies, governance, and KPI reporting (service, adherence, utilization, inventory health).
- Deliver performance insights, risks, and recommendations to leadership.
- Partner cross-functionally to improve cost, quality, and delivery performance.
- Support new product introductions and engineering changes through integrated planning.
- Translate business growth strategy into scalable planning and capacity roadmaps.
- Partner with Finance on forecasts, budgets, and cost targets.
- Lead scenario planning ("what-if") to address demand/supply variability.
- Drive ERP/MRP enhancements for better visibility, automation, and accuracy.
- Identify risks, implement contingency plans, and improve supplier reliability.
- Establish S&OP cadence and planning governance routines.
- Support customer satisfaction through improved delivery performance.
- Lead change management and strengthen data governance across systems
What you'll Need To Succeed:
- Bachelor's degree (Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Business) or equivalent manufacturing planning experience.
- Strong experience in production planning, scheduling, and capacity management.
- Proven leadership of planning teams in a manufacturing environment.
- Solid knowledge of demand planning, inventory management, and operational constraints.
- Ability to translate business strategy into executional plans.
- Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills.
- Advanced ERP experience (planning, forecasting, scheduling).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder influence skills.
- Strong problem-solving and cross-functional leadership ability
Preferred:
Advanced degree in Supply Chain, Operations, or Business. APICS certifications (CPIM, CSCP) or similar. Lean Six Sigma / continuous improvement certification. Experience in complex or multi-product manufacturing environments. Experience with Oracle ERP or comparable systems. Experience supporting audits, system implementations, or transformations
