TITLE: Director FSQS

LOCATION: Onsite in Oswego IL, Lombard IL or Avon OH

COMP RANGE: $140,000 - $180,000 / year plus bonus

Custom Culinary is hiring a Director of FSQS to lead the function for our business. As Director FSQS, you will provide strategic direction and leadership to Custom Culinary US Food Safety and Quality Systems team, including various contract manufacturer locations, warehouses and FSVP (US). Leads one management group to closely align efforts and measure performance in the areas of quality, GPE and manufacturing. Enable our sites to use their local quality group in efforts of GPE and transform our operations group to better understand customer requirements.

This is your opportunity to create alignment and commitment with our global quality initiatives, which is set to deliver improved performance consistency, standards consistency, customer satisfaction, and business enablement. This role Is a member of the Custom Culinary US Supply Chain Leadership Team and ensures alignment of FSQS expectations across functions and fellow members. The position provides regular updates to the team regarding the FSQS function.

As a Director FSQS, your responsibilities will include:

  • Oversees a FSQS functional teamof 13 employees.
  • Overall responsibility for the Custom Culinary food safety and quality systems programs design and compliance, as well as regional policy setting.
  • Leading and developing plans to standardize quality systems and food safety personnel and programs across all manufacturing facilities, including best practice utilization.
  • Representing Custom Culinary US as a member of the Global Food Safety Council and key integration contact for Griffith Global FSQS who continuously strives toward standardization of practices and methodology.
  • Providing leadership in all Food Safety and Quality areas across Custom Culinary facilities & comans including plant program coordination/decision making, common customer communication, and management updates.
  • Determining and promoting an initiative-taking than reactive relation with key customers to improve internal and external client satisfaction.
  • Providing QS updates to operations management, QS, Custom Culinary Leadership, and all other support departments on FSQS key initiatives, challenges, failures, and improvements.
  • Promoting continuous improvement in FSQS processes to achieve stronger linkages between departments and the company overall process.
  • Responsibility for organizational design visible as appropriate structure and job roles to support business needs and capitalizes global best practices.

Qualified candidates will have:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 10+ years' related experience in the food industry and the food safety and quality function.
  • 5 years of progressive management and plant level leadership experience.
  • North American Regulation, ISO 9000, Pathogen Control, Allergen Control, third party audit and GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative) knowledge.
  • Experience working with both USDA and FDA inspected plants.
  • Willingness to travel 15%, which is sporadic and occasional for meetings and visiting other facilities.
  • Candidates must currently possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States. Work visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

There is potential for a discretionary bonus, with a target of 18%. This bonus is based on personal and company performance and is not a guaranteed bonus plan.

This role is affiliated with the Illinois and Avon, Ohio locations, and candidates for this role need to reside within a commutable distance of that location and will be required to come into that location. You may be asked to travel to other locations periodically for meetings.

Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand and walk to communicate and listen effectively. This will require both office and kitchen environments.

Environmental Concerns: The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Dust and odor present in environment.
