Job Description
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Missouri University of Science and Technology (formerly University of Missouri-Rolla) seeks a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to support a U.S. Department of Energy funded project in collaboration with National Laboratory of the Rockies (NLR). The work focuses on market price forecasting and hydro-power scheduling optimization. The postdoc appointment is for one year and is expected to be renewed for a second year, contingent on performance and funding. Postdoc responsibilities:
- Lead core R&D tasks
- Assist the Principal Investigator in research and project management, including coordination with NLR and industry partners and mentoring graduate students
- Contribute to reporting, publications, and proposal development
Qualifications
Postdoc minimum qualifications:
- Ph.D. in EE/CS/IE/OR or related field; strong background in power systems and optimization and/or machine learning.
Preferred qualifications (Postdoc & PhD Student):
- Electricity markets; probabilistic forecasting
- Hydro-power and hydraulic system modeling; large-scale optimization
- Experience in other related areas is also a plus, such as distribution automation/digitization, cyber-physical system security, energy-aware computing, etc
