Description
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: - Direct the Central Oregon Ready-Mix operations including sales, dispatchers, batch persons, quality control, drivers, and maintenance personnel with the goal of producing and delivering high-quality Ready-Mix concrete to the Central Oregon market. - The Central Oregon Ready-Mix Manager will oversee all Ready-Mix operations at our Central Oregon Ready-Mix plants (Tumalo, Redmond, Prineville). - The Central Oregon Ready-Mix Manager will report directly to the South-Central Vice President of Operations and will also have reporting relationships with the Oregon Director of Ready-Mix (if applicable). - Responsible for maximizing operating efficiencies and financial performance of the Central Oregon Ready-Mix division. - Regularly conduct and/or coordinate safety meetings and aid team members in addressing areas and conditions requiring attention. Promote and implement new safety and efficiency protocols. - Ensure MSHA, OSHA, EPA, DNR, safety and environmental regulation compliance, Lockout/Tagout. - Assure all safety policies and procedures are followed to prevent unsafe actions, processes and behavior observed. - Assure that products conform with federal and state standards, accepted principles of design and engineering, are environmentally efficient and cost competitive. - Responsible for planning, budgeting, and the timely execution of annual capital improvement projects. - Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work with difficult people under high stress situations. - Must be a self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations & act courteous/respectful of others. - Troubleshoot and problem solve situations/problems (material quality, equipment operation/repair, etc.) - Monitor and troubleshoot production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisors - Oversee the recruitment of new team members and assist with team development. - Responsible for the timely completion of a wide range of documents and forms. - Participate in industry associations. (OCAPA, NRMCA, etc) -Research and implement products and procedures to reduce carbon footprint. - Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: - 10 plus years of related Ready-Mix operations experience and product familiarity. Personnel management experience is required. - Working knowledge of ready-mix plant cost and product cost estimating experience. - Proficiency reading and reviewing construction drawings and specifications with the ability to perform quantity take-offs. - Past P&L responsibilities preferred. - Strong leadership skills. - Strong problem solving and analytical skills. - Strong prioritization and organizational skills. - Must be customer driven in both private and public markets. - Must display a professional and courteous attitude towards all team members and customers. - Ability to work flexible shifts which include days, nights, weekends and overtime. - Comprehensive computer skills/proficiency required - Ability to pass a pre-employment criminal background check, physical/functional exam and drug screen. - Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
