JOB SUMMARY

Cox Fleet is currently hiring a hiring a reliable and detail-oriented Light/Medium Duty Parts Specialist to support our parts department and team of technicians. This role is responsible for sourcing, ordering, and managing parts for light-duty trucks, trailers, and equipment, ensuring technicians have what they need to stay productive.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Order and source parts for light/med-duty trucks, trailers, and equipment
  • Manage inventory levels, including stocking, tracking, and reordering
  • Procure both standard inventory and specialty parts for a team of 12-15 technicians
  • Support technicians and service coordinators with timely and accurate parts delivery
  • Maintain accurate part numbers, pricing, and vendor relationships
  • Apply proper markup strategies and cost controls
  • Organize and maintain an efficient parts system
  • Coordinate across multiple teams, including East Coast operations
  • Troubleshoot part availability and compatibility issues


Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required with three (3) years of experience in Heavy Diesel/ Trailer parts ordering, or automotive field. The right candidate can have a combination of a bachelor's degree with a minimum of one (1) year of experience in Heavy Diesel/ Trailer parts ordering, or automotive field.
  • Proficient computer skills, including MS Excel and Word, and the ability to learn new systems quickly, (such as DFS IT Systems, including Web Wrench, MobileFrame, RO Writer)
  • Common knowledge of the trucking industry; experience with fleet maintenance or other transportation experience in automotive/trucking preferred
  • Experience in a parts department environment (automotive, fleet, or equipment)
  • Background with retail parts suppliers (e.g., Advance Auto, O'Reilly, etc.) is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of light-duty truck and trailer parts
  • Familiarity with:
  • Part numbers and lookup systems
  • Vendor sourcing and ordering
  • Pricing, margins, and markups
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and apply initiative and creativity on projects.
  • Positive attitude, good instincts, and self-motivation
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to balance a variety of tasks
  • Ability to act with a sense of urgency to fix immediate issues as well as document and address solutions for the long-term.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization


USD 22.02 - 33.08 per hour

Compensation:

Hourly pay rate is in the range of $22.02 - $33.08/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.

Benefits:

Employees are eligible to receive a minimum of 6.67 hours of paid time off every month and seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
