Responsibilities

Newport Healthcare, is seeking a Medical Director Psychiatrist for services for our St. Cloud & Wright Co., MN Residential Treatment Programs for Adolescents & Young Adults. This role encompasses clinical & leadership responsibilities. Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Director of Psychiatry provides initial evaluations of residents with mental or emotional problems. Offers counseling and psychotherapy to clients in distress.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a dedicated mental health team to oversee psychiatric care for all residents.
  • Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations within 48 hours of admission.
  • Attend to residents requiring psychiatric assistance during treatment.
  • Facilitate staff training on key psychiatric issues and standards.
  • Liaise with the Medical Director, Clinical Director, and outreach teams to build relationships with hospitals.
  • Manage a caseload and document patient encounters through progress notes and EMR.
  • Provide support for patient admissions, including initial evaluations and assessments.
  • Maintain excellent communication with families and outpatient providers.
  • Participate in weekly treatment team meetings and assist with utilization reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with Physician Collaborative Agreements and provide age-appropriate care.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Education: Doctorate in Medicine (MD) required.
  • Board Certification: Board Certified in Child & Adolescent, and Adult Psychiatry.
  • Licensure: Licensed to practice in the State.
  • Preferred Experience: Experience with adolescent psychiatry is required.
  • Residential Experience: Experience in a residential settings is strongly preferred.
  • Leadership Experience: Minimum 5 years of Medical Director/Physician leadership experience is required.

Pay range for this position is $350,000k to $385,000k depending on education and experience.
