The Role

Join our mission as our next Senior Global Product Manager, Assays, Distribution & OEM Strategy.The Senior Product Management role within the Transfusion Medicine (TM) business unit serves as the strategic leader of assays with expanded accountability for global distribution strategy and OEM assay/reagent partnerships. Owning the full business lifecycle from strategy development through commercialization and post-launch performance optimization. The position is responsible for defining the business case, financial model, channel strategy, OEM partnership framework, and long-term value creation plan for assigned products. This role integrates customer insights, competitive intelligence, forecasting analytics, supply chain economics, and cross-functional execution to ensure portfolio decisions align with enterprise growth, margin expansion, and global market penetration objectives. This role requires the ability to balance detailed operational oversight with a strategic mindset that shapes portfolio direction, channel architecture, and partnership investment decisions.
Remote role - East Coast time zone preferred

The Responsibilities
  • Develop comprehensive business cases for new products, lifecycle investments, distribution expansion, and OEM partnership opportunities, including revenue, margin, and ROI modeling.

  • Build and maintain multi-year financial forecasts incorporating market dynamics, pricing strategy, channel margins, OEM transfer pricing, and scenario sensitivity analysis; partner with Finance to align with AOP/LRP and accountability to revenue and margin targets.

  • Conduct structured market segmentation including TAM/SAM/SOM modeling; assess competitive positioning; develop differentiated positioning strategies grounded in clinical value, workflow efficiency, and economic return.

  • Analyze regional performance trends, distributor effectiveness, pricing elasticity, installed base trends, and OEM performance to optimize market coverage and inform contract and lifecycle planning.

  • Own end-to-end lifecycle management across assays from concept through commercialization and maturity; develop data-driven launch strategies including revenue ramp models, channel rollout plans, inventory strategies, and milestone tracking.

  • Partner cross-functionally with R&D, Regulatory, Quality, Supply Chain, Operations, and Commercial teams to ensure compliant and scalable product launches.

  • Track post-launch performance against forecast, identify root causes of revenue or margin variance, and implement corrective actions.

  • Develop and execute global distribution strategy and OEM partnership framework, including partner identification, negotiation support, agreement structure evaluation (pricing, volume commitments, IP considerations, supply continuity), and KPI oversight (revenue growth, margin contribution, inventory turns, service levels).

  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

The Individual

Required:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required

  • Experience: Minimum of 10+ years demonstrating success in diagnostic Product Management, Marketing, Commercial Leadership, or Channel Management

  • Minimum 5+ years experience in laboratory medicine required, transfusion medicine preferred

  • Proven ability to develop robust financial models and multi-year forecasts; strong understanding of P&L drivers including manufacturing economics, transfer pricing, and channel margin structures

  • Data-driven decision making; comfort interpreting complex commercial and operational datasets

  • Strong prioritization and project management skills in matrixed global environments; ability to manage complexity across global distribution and OEM supply models

  • Effective communicator capable of influencing senior commercial and operational stakeholders; executive presence and ability to deliver concise, insight-driven presentations

  • Leadership & integrity: high ethical standards aligned with corporate governance expectations; collaborative leadership style

  • This position is not currently eligible for visa sponsorship.

  • Travel: 25% Domestic and/or international travel required

Preferred:

  • MBA or advanced science degree preferred

  • Experience managing distributor networks and/or OEM partnerships strongly preferred

  • Demonstrated ownership of product P&L or portfolio financial performance preferred

  • Experience in global portfolio and channel management preferred

  • A self-starter, capable of completing a complex task with little supervision or oversight

The Work Environment

Hybrid office environment requires strong autonomy, organizational discipline, and executive presence. Up to 25% travel (domestic and international), including overnight travel. Global engagement across commercial partners and OEM sites required.

The Physical Demands

No strenuous physical activity, though occasional light lifting of files and related materials is required. 30% of time in meetings, working with team, or talking on the phone, 70% of the time at the desk on computer, doing analytical work. Travel up to 25% domestic and global including airplane, automobile, or train.

Salary Transparency

The salary range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, geography, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. At QuidelOrtho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary range for this position is $135,000 to $160,000 and is bonus eligible. QuidelOrtho offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, along with a 401(k) plan, employee assistance program, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, paid time off (including sick time) and paid Holidays.
