Job Overview

The Vendor Specialist owns and elevates brand integrity and performance across the digital customer experience on Macys.com, ensuring consistent, best-in-class brand presentation and product discovery. Partnering with vendors and cross-functional teams, this role optimizes PDPs, taxonomy, search, and promotional execution to drive engagement and conversion. As a brand expert and advocate, the Vendor Specialist uses data-driven insights to influence strategy while protecting long-term brand equity.

Essential Functions



  • Own and elevate brand integrity and performance across the digital customer experience by ensuring consistent, best-in-class brand presentation across all customer touchpoints and devices. Establish brand-specific best practices aligned with company strategy, and support promotional strategy, brand shop execution, and facet and browse optimization.
  • Utilize vendor asset management tool to pull and submit images and copy for product onboarding
  • Optimize Product Detail Pages to drive discovery and conversion, ensuring alignment with Macy's and vendor standards across size and fit information, attribution, tagging, page layout, imagery, reviews, and customer-generated content.
  • Advocate for appropriate brand exposure through taxonomy optimization, navigation, in partnership with SEO, UX, and vendor teams to develop and implement best practices.
  • Enhance product discovery by optimizing on-site search, including branded search terms and redirect performance.
  • Drive effective event execution through optimization of promo codes, PWPs, GWPs, sequencing, and product boosting.
  • Partner cross-functionally with teams-including Macy's Media Network, Marketing, CRM, Buying, Business Office, and Site Merchandising-to share performance insights, influence strategy, and support integrated 360 campaigns.
  • Protect brand integrity by maintaining consistent brand presentation, managing pricing and promotional exposure, safeguarding against reseller misuse, and acting as a trusted brand advocate.
  • Partner closely with the vendor daily to serve as a brand expert with deep knowledge of brand identity, customer, product, and competitive positioning within Macy's and the broader marketplace.
  • Provide detailed vendor recaps on a weekly, month and quarterly basis which synthesize data, tell a story and support actionable insights.
  • Host quarterly business reviews to look back on prior performance and strategize on forward looking actions to drive the business.
  • Have a holistic understanding of broader category performance both internally and externally to optimize and improve the experience for the brand.
  • Support other ad-hoc projects within the business as needed.

Drive Digital Sales Performance



  • Identify online opportunities to increase sales, conversion and profit performance.
  • Strategize and collaborate with merchant teams to understand the business strategy, objectives and priorities.
  • Prepare and present Key Quarterly Business Review (QBR) to optimize taxonomy & search strategies, inclusive of competitive deep dives. Provide insights and strategies to determine next steps for best online experience.
  • Strategic cross-functional relationships (Merchants, Marketing, Creative Production, Production, and Internal Site Merchandise Partners) to leverage necessary resources in establish Best in class event execution.
  • Innovation and Improved Customer Experience
  • Competitive Analysis to gain insight and develop strategies.
  • Seek out opportunities to grow the business by improving the customer shopping experience.


Data Analysis



  • Work with business intelligence, experimentation and relevancy to understand and develop comprehensive strategies for site audit.


Qualifications and Competencies



  • Bachelor's Degree from 4-year college or university preferred
  • 3-5 years direct experience
  • Ability to effectively share technical information, communicate technical issues and solutions to all levels of business
  • Able to juggle multiple projects - can identify primary and secondary objectives, prioritize time and communicate timeline to team members
  • Ability and desire to take product/project ownership
  • Ability to think creatively, strategically and technically
  • Knowledge of MS Office computer programs are required
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and Company needs.
