Job Summary

We are seeking a PRN / Pool Occupational Therapist (OT) with Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit (IRU) experience to support the delivery of high-quality occupational therapy services across inpatient rehabilitation and related care settings within Grady Health System.

In this role, the PRN Occupational Therapist will practice within the scope defined by the Georgia Occupational Therapy Practice Act, working collaboratively with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate occupational therapy interventions. The goal is to maximize patient independence, functional outcomes, and overall quality of care.

This position provides flexible PRN coverage primarily within the Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit (IRU), with the potential to support additional units as needed. It is well suited for experienced clinicians who enjoy schedule flexibility while continuing to work with medically complex rehabilitation patients in a dynamic teaching-hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct occupational therapy evaluations and provide treatment within the Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit (IRU)

  • Deliver patient-centered interventions for individuals with complex medical and functional rehabilitation needs

  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary rehabilitation teams to support coordinated patient care

  • Develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans based on patient goals, functional progress, and clinical outcomes

  • Monitor, screen, and follow occupational therapy consults within assigned service areas

  • Ensure care delivery is age-appropriate and addresses patients' physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs

  • Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards

  • Provide PRN coverage across designated service areas as operational needs require

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree from an Occupational Therapy program accredited by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) or the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA)

  • Licensed or license-eligible as an Occupational Therapist in the State of Georgia (Georgia licensure required by start date)

  • Minimum of three (3) years of clinical occupational therapy experience

  • Demonstrated experience working in an Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit (IRU)

  • Clearly defined clinical expertise developed through professional experience and/or advanced certification

  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in a teaching hospital or academic medical center
