What this job involves: The Metrology Technician is directly responsible for the calibration, maintenance, and operational readiness of critical scientific equipment at a life sciences facility. This role requires precise execution of calibration protocols, proactive vendor coordination, and thorough documentation to uphold client production standards and regulatory requirements. High accountability and attention to detail are expected at every stage. What your day-to-day will look like: * Collaborate actively with Clients, Vendors and Colleagues to optimize production output by assisting with proper operation and calibration of instruments. * Perform thorough calibration of particle counters and other critical instruments used in production. * Maintain, repair, and calibrate departmental instrumentation, ensuring operational readiness and compliance. Schedule and execute both internal maintenance and partnerships with external vendors for preventative and corrective tasks. * Manage instrument scheduling, training colleagues on usage protocols, and ensuring facility-wide compliance and safety. * Maintain a comprehensive repository of instrumentation software, manuals, and documentation, both physically and electronically. * Administer computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), documenting assets, managing work orders, and executing maintenance procedures per requirement. * Proactively coordinate with vendor calibration item owners weekly. Document all outreach and scheduling actions within work orders, noting due diligence for compliance and audit purposes. * Track and report undelivered items through persistent follow-up, updating work order comments and escalating as necessary. * Ensure all calibrated items are quarantined until supporting documentation is reviewed and approved. * Facilitate organized and traceable return of lab and suite items, tagging with room and building numbers as needed and supporting swift re-integration into operational areas. * Consistently monitor and update building, laboratory and suite item lists, collaborating with area managers to ensure all assets are accounted for. * Export, sort, and share relevant equipment lists in Excel format to support stakeholder communication and accountability. * Perform any additional duties as required to support operational excellence and regulatory compliance. * The Metrology Technician is expected to own each calibration workflow from initiation to completion, ensuring all actions are documented, traceable, and compliant. * Investigations for lost items have significant cost impact; proactive communication and precise documentation are mandatory to minimize risk and uphold client trust. * Timely and accurate execution of all responsibilities directly affects production output and compliance for the life sciences facility. * Continuous improvement and feedback are encouraged to drive operational excellence and uphold exceptional standards. Required Qualifications: * Strong communication and organizational skills, with proven ability to interact professionally across all levels of JLL and Client organizations. * Demonstrated capacity to articulate technical issues and resolutions effectively within a team. * Fundamental understanding of electricity and electronics. * Consistent record of troubleshooting and problem solving independently, with minimal supervision. * Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks. * Working knowledge of relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and company policies. * Functional understanding of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs). Preferred Qualifications: * Associate's degree in a science or engineering discipline preferred. * Experience working with electrical circuits and sensors within an industrial environment. * Proficiency using test equipment, supporting scientific/instrument troubleshooting. * Advanced skill in preparing technical reports and data using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. * Physical ability to lift and move scientific equipment. Work Shift: 1st Monday - Friday 7A-3:30P This position does not provide visa sponsorship. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. Estimated compensation for this position: 73,000.00 - 87,360.00 USD per yearThis range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
