Job Summary

The Cherry Picker Operator is responsible for safely retrieving, storing, and processing materials within a fast-paced warehouse environment. This role involves operating a cherry picker/order picker forklift at heights up to 40 feet while maintaining accuracy, productivity, and safety standards. The position also supports inventory control, order fulfillment, shipping, and receiving activities while ensuring confidential materials are handled properly.

Job Responsibilities



  • Safely operate a cherry picker/order picker forklift to access materials stored at heights up to 30-40 feet
  • Retrieve, scan, and accurately process records, files, and inventory materials
  • Perform put-away, replenishment, and order fulfillment tasks
  • Maintain accurate inventory handling and material tracking procedures
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of sensitive or confidential materials
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of warehouse aisles and storage areas
  • Conduct routine equipment inspections and report maintenance concerns as needed
  • Follow all warehouse safety procedures and operating guidelines
  • Assist with shipping, receiving, cycle counts, and inventory audits as needed
  • Support overall warehouse operations in a fast-paced, productivity-driven environment


Job Requirements



  • Minimum of 6 months of recent cherry picker/order picker forklift experience required
  • Comfortable working at heights up to 35-40 feet
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow work orders and inventory instructions
  • Ability to lift up to 40-50 pounds regularly throughout the shift
  • Ability to stand, bend, twist, reach, and move continuously during the workday
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to workplace safety and following established procedures


Preferred Qualifications



  • Familiarity with inventory management systems or RF scanners
  • OSHA forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification
  • Previous warehouse, shipping, receiving, or inventory experience preferred


Work Environment



  • Warehouse environment with high shelving and narrow aisles
  • May include temperature-controlled or non-temperature-controlled conditions
  • Fast-paced environment with productivity and accuracy expectations
  • Frequent operation of powered industrial equipment required
