DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION Assistnursing staff /ancillary staff in transferring patients from bed to bed, stretcher or wheelchair, pickup, and delivery of patient meal trays, and assistingwith patient feeding as directed. Demonstrate the ability to organize workload and manage multiple tasks whilemaintaininga clutter-free and orderly environment including prompt answering ofunit telephones andaccuratedelivery of messages and information to patients,families, visitors, staff, and personnel upon request. Educate and trainnew staffmembers in the responsibilities of the Care TeamAssociate role. Perform other duties as delegated by nursing staff and unit management as neededin both routine and emergent situations. Perform patient position changes, placement and removal of patient equipment,daily hygiene care, simple non-sterile dressing changes, finger stick glucosechecks, may perform venipuncture to obtain a blood sample,maintainqualitycontrol checks, and deliver/retrieve lab specimens and supplies asrequested. Responsible foraccurateandtimelyentry of information into the bed-managementsystem. Responsible for prompt response to patient call lights and addressing patientneeds using positive guest relations skills while ensuring patient vital signs,intake, output, height, and weight are obtained and documented as directed. May complete unit/department specific duties as outlined in departmentdocuments. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS One of the following: --Is enrolled in a professional or practical nursing education program and has or will complete a Fundamentals of Nursing course within 90 days; or --Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) exam registration; or --Proof of certification as a Patient Care Technician (PCT); or --Direct patient care experience in the past three (3) years as a medical assistant, nursing assistant, emergency medical technician, or surgical technician; or --Completion within the last three (3) years, or will complete within 180 days, an Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP) training program and clinical log demonstrating 100 hours of patient care experience; or --Nursing licensure candidate who was unsuccessful on the state licensure examinations in the past three (3) years; or --Completion a nursing program outside the United States and is awaiting the licensure examination in this country. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Additionallicense/certification requirements asdeterminedby the hiring department.
