1. Administrative (AP) Position: Director of UIC High-Finance Academy (50%)

Summary

The University of Illinois Chicago College of Business Administration invites applications for the position of Director of the UIC High-Finance Academy, a new initiative in the Department of Finance designed to prepare high-potential UIC students for highly competitive careers in finance.

The Academy will create a structured, multi-year pipeline that prepares students for careers in fields such as investment banking, corporate banking, commercial banking, private equity, asset and wealth management, and related areas of high finance.

Many UIC students have the drive to succeed in these careers but lack early exposure to recruiting timelines, technical preparation, and professional networks. The High-Finance Academy aims to close that gap by providing structured training, mentorship, and employer engagement beginning as early as freshman year, thereby advancing UIC's mission of expanding access to opportunity for talented students from diverse backgrounds.
The Director will be responsible for building and leading the UIC High-Finance Academy, including developing curriculum, mentoring students, engaging alumni and employers, and helping position UIC as a pipeline for top finance talent.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and oversee the multi-year structure of the UIC High-Finance Academy, including technical training in financial modeling, valuation, and interview preparation.
  • Lead Academy programming (workshops, seminars, and training sessions) and provide direct coaching to students pursuing internships and full-time roles.
  • Organize recruiting preparation, including mock interviews and resume reviews, and foster a strong peer mentorship culture.
  • Leverage industry networks to expand internship and recruiting opportunities, and build relationships with finance firms across major markets.
  • Organize employer events, alumni panels, and networking opportunities.
  • Scale the Academy from an initial pilot to a sustainable multi-year program, including coordinating recruiting trips, employer engagement, and securing long-term institutional support.
