YMCA of the North Shore

Are you creative, organized, and excited to grow your career in marketing? The YMCA of the North Shore is looking for a detail-oriented Marketing Assistant to support our dynamic marketing team and help bring our mission to life across the community.

As a leading nonprofit dedicated to youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility, we rely on strong storytelling and strategic outreach to connect with our members. In this role, you'll assist with content creation, social media management, email campaigns, and marketing coordination-playing a key part in how we engage and inspire our community.

What You'll Do
Content Creation & Design

  • Assist in creating social media graphics, email content, and print materials
  • Ensure all content aligns with YMCA brand standards and messaging


Social Media & Market Research

  • Schedule and post content across social media platforms
  • Monitor and respond to comments and messages
  • Track analytics and report insights to the marketing team
  • Research industry trends, audience insights, and competitor activity


Marketing & Administrative Support

  • Support the planning and execution of marketing campaigns
  • Draft press releases and marketing materials for review
  • Assist with brainstorming content ideas and media outreach
  • Coordinate meetings, maintain marketing calendars, and support scheduling
  • Organize and manage digital assets and marketing files


What We're Looking For

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with social media platforms and basic analytics
  • Familiarity with graphic design tools (Canva, Adobe, etc.) preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborative, creative, and eager to learn

Qualifications
Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or have completed an undergraduate degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, or a related field
  • Experience or coursework in social media, content creation, or marketing communications preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with keen attention to detail
  • Familiarity with graphic design tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite is a plus
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborative team player with a willingness to learn, take direction, and contribute ideas
