Introduction to the job

At ASML, Mechatronics Technicians handle repair and maintenance of complex equipment in a dynamic manufacturing setting.

As a Mechatronics Maintenance Technician, your main responsibilities will be supporting Coating (OFC) and Contact/Etch/Litho (CEL). You will handle various Optical Fabrication equipment, requiring care and attention.

Roles and responsibilities

Shift: Back End Nights 6pm - 6am (Thursday, Friday, Saturday, alternate Wednesday)

Occasional overtime may be needed. Including for verbal pass down with oncoming shift, coverage, repairs or project support needs.

  • Maximize equipment availability and reliability, by being effective at repairs and maintenance.
  • Keep daily planning on track by communicating priorities, progress, and risks; adapt as needed with stakeholder input.
  • Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and statuses.
  • Collaborate with Management, and Technicians, to establish and complete priority activities and maintenance schedules.
  • Support Continuous Improvement of equipment and maintenance program.
  • Inventory Management support and 5S LEAN.
  • Provide additional support, when needed, to other Optical Fabrication lines of business.
  • Interpersonal Skills and Initiative: Communication and interpersonal abilities.
Education and Experience
  • Must have 3+ years in electro-mechanical/mechatronics and an Associate degree, Technical or Automotive Certification, Military Technical training, or 6+ years relevant experience.
  • Preferred: Experience with Thin Films Hi-Vac, and related manufacturing equipment.
  • Control systems integration experience desirable.
  • LEAN manufacturing and continuous improvement background a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook 365; SAP or similar ERP system experience preferred.

  • Diagnose failures and execute repairs proficiently on both electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Show commitment to tasks and maintain a results-driven approach to completing scheduled activities.
  • Exhibit the ability to document problems and actions taken accurately using factual information and relevant data.
  • Take accountability for actions and engage proactively in resolving issues.
  • Interpersonal and communication abilities to support cross-functional collaboration.
  • Self-motivated and proactive work ethic.
  • Excellent manual dexterity.

Other Information:

  • You will be required to wear PPE and embrace ASML 5S requirements.
  • Typically handles parts that could weigh up to 35 pounds
  • Will be required to stand, sit, kneel and bend to load and unload the surfaces of the machine tools
  • Production areas are maintained at 70 to 76 degrees and 40 to 50% relative humidity
  • The noise level in the manufacturing areas is usually moderate
  • Ability to work in a cleanroom. This includes wearing the full bunny suit and PPE.
  • Occasional travel may be required

Additional Responsibilities:

There is potential for exposure to strong magnetic fields, high voltage and currents.

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. * 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
