Job Summary

Our Lead Journeyman Electrician - serves as a front-line resource to service technicians through technical support and provides guidance and training to other technicians. Responsible for maintenance and repair of electronic components and equipment and ensure equipment is running correctly. Refers to schematics and performs visual inspections for basic problems. Uses diagnostic equipment to pinpoint malfunctions. Once identified, defective components are repaired or replaced.


Essential Duties

  • Lead and perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on industrial electrical systems and equipment, ensuring reliability and minimal downtime.
  • Serve as the technical subject matter expert in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing complex electrical issues involving motors, motor controls, VFDs, pumps, breakers, relays, transformers, panels, lighting, and power distribution systems.
  • Plan, oversee, and execute installation, maintenance, and repair of conduit, wiring, control panels, disconnects, and plant-wide electrical infrastructure.
  • Direct and perform inspection, testing, and servicing of electrical equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and code-compliant operation.
  • Lead electrical support for control systems, instrumentation, and PLC-connected equipment, working closely with controls and automation teams to resolve issues.
  • Interpret and review blueprints, one-lines, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals; provide guidance and clarification to technicians as needed.
  • Coordinate and lead electrical activities during plant shutdowns, emergency repairs, and critical operational events.
  • Ensure all electrical work meets applicable NEC, site standards, safety regulations, and best practices; promote a strong safety culture within the team.
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, and maintenance leadership to identify issues, prioritize work, and drive continuous improvement to reduce downtime.
  • Assign work, mentor junior technicians, and provide technical training and oversight to ensure quality workmanship.
  • Review and ensure accurate documentation of maintenance activities, repairs, equipment condition, and work orders.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum requirement: High School Diploma or GED.

Journeyman license.
Technical degree in related field is preferred.

7+ years of experience.

Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills.
Coaching and mentoring skills
Ability to prioritize tasks, work effectively under stress, and meet short deadlines.
Must have a professional demeanor, positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Good communication skills (oral and written).
Ability to organize and lead meetings.
